  • Signatures on Invoices!

    My husband and I use this app for his small contracting business. I love many of the features but the one issue I have is that if an invoice is changed & new signatures are needed from a client, there is no way to get that done electronically via email/text. Only in person on the app. Please add a way for us to be able to get new signatures on an updated invoice from the clients via email or text!

    At first I love this app, but now with the paid service taking over I feel like they’ve lost sight of the appeal of this app vs a million others. I tried the paid service didn’t like it didn’t use the extra features. I tried to go back to the free version and couldn’t use the app anymore. My invoices are gone. Jobs I’m in the middle of I can’t access their invoices. Unbelievable.

    For some reason when I’m writing up estimates, I can’t put the proper tax rate. It only lets me put a single digit number which is ridiculous. The tax rate varies all over the country and it’s been like this for two years now you still have not fixed it.

    No improvements sadly As a follow up to my previous review I thought I’d mention another issue, if you decide not to use them anymore you will not have access to your old information, that means you will lose all your invoices unless you manually download which doesn’t give you the physical invoice just seems to have some of the information. Almost reminds me of ransom ware. So if you leave your being cut off from everything you built up. After years of using joist I moved away from them, Wave app has been a much better replacement. Previously this is what I reviewed Joist has continued to show they are a bad investment. They promised to stay free, then set a price scheme, but still a bit free though they took away most things, understand that, but now they have nothing free after getting us all locked in. The app isn’t that great to begin with, why would we want to deal with more, it’s just time to jump ship and go somewhere else, wave app seems to keep their word at this point so that’s an option.

    I love this app and have been a user since shortly after its inception. I agree with others that without an offline feature, it can be limiting. As a business owner that travels or may not have Wi-Fi or cell service at times, it doesn’t allow me to maximize. I feel this will also help with occasional data loss. Have you ever typed up and estimate or invoice and tried to save it loosing everything? If you know, you know….:)

    I made the payment for my membership and I'm having problems changing the bank where I'm receiving my card. The support email asked me for two days, but it's been over a week since I received a response to my emails.

    When sending the estimates and/or invoices to the customer, I really would like them to be able to see the full estimate before asking for the deposit payment. My last three jobs were lost because they saw the deposit price before seeing how to expand to see the entire estimate. I now have to walk them through the process before I even send them my prices.

    I’ve been using Joist for my masonry business, and overall, it’s a great app. However, there are two things that could be improved: No way to delete an expense – Once an expense is entered, there’s no clear way to erase it. This makes it difficult to correct mistakes. No category for subcontractor pay statements – I often create payment statements, work summaries, or pay sheets for subcontractors, but the app doesn’t have a category for these. I have to enter them as invoices even though they aren’t invoices. If this feature were added, the app would be 100% perfect! I hope the developers consider these improvements in a future update.
  • Customers not able to pay me

    I’ve used this app for many years and my business has survived using it along with payments my customers make through the platform, I haven’t received any paid invoices in a couple weeks now because my customers aren’t able to make payments through the portal, it won’t accept their email addresses or card numbers! No customer service after certain hours, unfortunately it’s time to move on.
