very good todo list app, just one thing. I want to able to see all the tasks i have already completed, and by erasing the completed task from the list makes it hard to keep track of everthing ive already done. please keep the completed task with a strikethrough
  • It’s FREE?? How???

I have been using ToDoist for 3 years. Today I went to open my app and saw a motivational quote followed by a spinning circle. The app takes forever to open if it even opens at all. I want to see my tasks not a motivational quote. I did send this feedback to support but they made it clear that they don’t respond to all feedback submissions. I’m hoping a review on the App Store will get someone’s attention.

The value of the free version is amazing. The easiest app to quickly enter todos. Best widgets on the home screen and great Mac app, iPad and web app too.
  • Probably Great for IBM employees

The interface needs a lot of love. This is surely a very effective app with all of its whiz-bang features. But what really want is some interface that is fun. Confetti is tiny fun. But why is the text on my to-do list not adjustable? I use this on an iPad mini and in my dream the interface is skeuomorphic as a clipboard with a page on it. But at least let me pick different fonts. At at the very very least different font SIZES. If you want me to check this first thing in the morning you should give me the ability to see it without my glasses on. And let me add things before I go to sleep. Put another way:you probably could make this a more boing app, but I have no idea how. TBH even your confetti is weak. Tiny. Go wild! Make it reactive the accelerometer so it always falls down. When your app is literally every coding 101 project you gotta do more. Sure you link with corporate accounts and tasks for 600 employees blah blah blah. Hire a UI person. A fun one. Let them go wild. Then hide all of their work in the “View” menu so your suits don’t ever find it.

I’m giving this one star to balance out the historical 5 stars and raise to any new users that they removed the main functionality that many users depended on for daily use and task management. Tasks between calendars and the app was the reason why I used this.

I’ve been using Todoist for at least seven years now and I have it well integrated into my daily life. It is the one place I can throw anything at any time and not have to think about it again. Wake up at 3am with a thought, add it and I know it will be there in the morning for me. I love the ease of adding tasks and by using symbols and times, have those tasks in the correct project with due dates and reminders. The team has really enhanced the software over this time adding more and more functionality. My only complaint about the application, and it’s a big one for me, is the syncing. Very often when I mark tasks off on my computer, they are not marked complete on my phone. I’ve tried suggestions from support and often it doesn’t work. If you are looking at a repeatable task, and mark it complete twice by accident, it will complete for the next day too. That has thrown me off more than once. For example, I mark a task complete on my computer and later see the task not complete on my phone (not yet synced), then mark it complete on my phone, that reoccurring task will be marked complete for the next iteration even though what is shown on my phone was today’s task. There has to be a better way to index the tasks. Regardless, I really like this app and suggest to others to whom I think it is a good fit.

I told everyone about Todoist and how productive it helped me be. Until they retired the legacy Google Calendar integration. Since then, even following the instructions, I have things on my calendar not showing up on my Todoist, some events showing on Todoist as starting at their real ending time, other starting an hour later than they’re supposed to. You have to use a third party app to get events added to your Todoist, which is ridiculous. Rethinking my paid plan for sure. If I can’t rely on Todoist without having to double check my (free) calendar app, it’s not worth the money.

There’s probably a million todo or calendar apps out there with a million more on the way in the future. But man once I tried this, I never looked back. Used it for a couple weeks before I joined the paid sub plan and couldn’t be happier. I’m not a big planner person usually but this just makes it so easy to manage all of life’s big and small things. 10/10 thanks todoist team for your killer work!
