  • App Used to “Freeze” Upon Opening

    UPDATE: The newest version of the iPhone app has corrected the issues mentioned in my previous review. Thank you, Everand, for the attentive service! Remember that dreaded experience of watching that “hourglass” icon spin endlessly when running Windows 95 (or the rainbow pinwheel for Mac users)? That’s what often happens when I first open the Everand app on my iPhone—even for books I’ve downloaded. Based on other reviews, it seems many others are stuck with this same frustrating experience. Dear Everand coders and engineers: you can do better! Please issue an update that will fix this problem.

  • Audio controls are so outdated

    How is the entire point of this app audio… but the speeds they offer you for listening are basically either turtle slow, regular or lightning fast. Especially when every other audio-based app in the world lets you increase and decrease the speed by tiny increments. I emailed them about it like three years ago and they assured me they were working on this upgrade. Which feels like it shouldn’t be an upgrade, but a standard feature. Bizarre.

    The app has such great potential. $15 a month for unlimited books is a good deal for someone who’s in the car 2 hours a day and would much rather be reading. My issue is that every other time I open a book I’ve already been listening to, it starts from the beginning. So I then have to try and remember where I was and usually it’s 20-30 chapters in. That’s extremely frustrating if I’m in the car and have to wait to leave just to figure my book out. This doesn’t matter if it’s downloaded before hand or not also. I also dislike that the book I’m listening to doesn’t always appear on the first screen or in my bookmarked area. I don’t want to search for the book I’ve been listening to all week, I expect it to pick up where I left off and not assume I want to start a new book every time I open the app. So I’m moving on from this app for a while to lessen my frustration and hopefully they have some bug fixes later down the road.

    I was listening to a book and they didn’t tell me that it was just a preview I thought because it was a series that I was gonna get the whole book and right in the middle of the book, the interrupted it and stopped the book and said it was available. The first of next month I unsubscribed they do this stuff too much in a while and they don’t have a really big collection of books.

    1st I want to say I absolutely love the Everand app. I use it for audio books only. All of the books I have looked up have been available. I really want to give it 5 stars but I can’t. The only thing I would like to change is the subscription. If the $11.99 offers “mostly unlimited” books, make a slightly higher priced option that really is “unlimited”. I have started 2 very good series’s but am now having to wait for the monthly roll around. I would gladly pay a little more to be able to “keep going.” I love reading and listening to stories while I’m driving, working, cleaning, etc… but it really annoys me to have to wait. Idk how much you would have to set the 2nd option but a choice would be amazing! Let us decide not an algorithm.

    I like this service but I don’t like the fact that I am being billed on the 8th but my new books aren’t available until the 11th. It should be available the same day I am charged.

  • Request for Everand Version Compatible with iOS 15.7

    Dear Everand Support Team, I am currently using an iPad running iOS 15.7, which unfortunately does not support iOS 16. I noticed that the latest version of Everand requires iOS 16 or later. Could you please let me know how I can obtain a version of Everand that is compatible with iOS 15.7? Thank you for your assistance.

    So, there is a magic limit on how many books you can listen too. Like, I guess 4 is your limit. I’ve started 4 books this month and I didn’t like them. So, unsaved and I’m moving on. Now I can’t listen to any new books because I’ve reached a magic limit. Of 4. And I didn’t download these books. I streamed them all. And I’ve unsaved them. It’s not like I’m holding the books hostage. So I’m really mad right now because I pay $13 a month to be able to listen to 4 books only. Books I didn’t even finish. So, a couple hours from each book and then sorry! Thanks for your money! We have a great selection you can’t have!
