    I do not type well so if I accidentally type the wrong letter or do the double space between sentences, it counts it against me. I will delete the app if it continues!

  • Very helpful app but now crashes in one instance

    Bible Memory has helped me greatly meditating on God’s word. But since this last version it has crashed in one instance: when I type “w” for “whole world” in 1 Peter 5:1-6. This passage I have reviewed for weeks.

    This has been a 5 star app for me until the most recent update (March 2025). Now there’s a bug that when you are typing the chapter and verse references if it’s a two digit number (like 23 for example) the 2 is on the QWERTY keyboard like normal but the 3 pulls up the numbers only keyboard and after typing the second number (which may or may not be correct if you notice the keyboard has switched on you) it reverts back to the letters part of the QWERTY keyboard and you have to keep going back to the numbers part to continue. This is especially annoying if it is, for example Psalm 73:25-26, because you will repeat this process three times to get through chapter and verses. To make matters worse if you mistype due to the keyboard change, it’s recording it as errors and possibly lowering your percentage enough that you’ll have to “try again.” I tried contacting support by the tech support link but have received no acknowledgment.

  • Finally the beginning of a fun Bible app

    I have searched high and low for a Bible app that keeps me motivated. Let me tell you what I like: 1) I like the point system and leveling 2) I like the ability to make collections and add verses. 3) I like the sound effects when you get it wrong. Kind of wish they had some effect for getting it right 4) I like that you can drag verses in the order you want to learn them or sort them. 5) I like the reference testing, but that feature should only apply to verses you learned. When I try to use it, I find that it quizzes me on verses added to my collection but not learned yet. That’s useless if I haven’t learned it yet. I wish it defaulted to shuffling the verses over having them in order Bugs: 1) when importing verses from my Bible version, it does not always allow the verses from a passage to import in as single verses, forcing me to close the app several times to get it to work 2) it allows you to select the book of the Bible when importing, ant the beginning verse, but you are not given the option to select the ending verse. That’s always got to be manually entered. Kind of a hassle when adding large amount of chapter verses 3) Though it says it syncs, I find my devices aren’t always showing the same. So I have to force sync most of the time, and then close the app to get it to show 4) voice recognition doesn’t always work 5) it gives you the option of setting defaults, but I find these defaults dont stick. I’ll set it to quiz me by single verse only to be prompted to repeatedly set the default again when I leave the collection or app. A bit annoying, but a great idea if it worked consistently Things I don’t care for: 1) below the learned verse is an option bar, but the icons are so close the the bar that I hit them by mistake switching the verse resulting in me having to start over 2) a users manual or a help menu to learn the app features isn’t available. It would be nice to know when a verse is considered memorized. I played with the features just to figure out how to do things. Example, what’s a heat map? It’s something you set in the preferences, but there’s nothing that tells you what that is. 3) I bought the paid version to read my Bible, but though I can’t import my verses from that Bible, I can access my Bible version to read Suggestions: 1) make the flash cards interactive so that it’s more than flipping cards 2) what’s the purpose of recording a verse. Make an activity with it so you’re motivated to use it. Something fun 3) one of the things I struggle with is verse addresses, resulting in me not remembering the verse. Funny thing is, if I get a hint, I find I know the verse, just couldn’t associate that verse with the address. So a hit feature would be nice

    This app has been game changing for memorizing scripture. It reminds me to practice verses at different frequencies depending on how well I know the verse. I plan to make Bible memory a life long practice!
