Just signed up a few days ago and having intermittent access issues. Frustrating.

The Chronicle stopped Saturday delivery to my semi-rural area outside the city limits of Santa Rosa some time ago. I can read most of the news articles via the app on my iPhone but many of the comics are not updated, some are. Why not all of them? The Chronicle did not decrease my subscription cost when they stopped Saturday delivery.

Won’t let you cancel subscription online or on the app. Very slow glitchy app.
  • Great features that you cannot find, great articles that you cannot bookmark or gift

I’m a subscriber and enjoy reading. The added value of the Chronicle’s data apps (fire tracker, air pollution, etc) is huge, but these amazing tools have no home of their own. If a tool gets promoted into your feed and you want to go back and check it the next day, it’s crazy hard to find again. They can’t be cheap to maintain. Why not put these tools under a menu or category so they are useful all the time? Also, sharing articles from the app simply dumps people into the paywall. Not worth sharing stuff with folks in other cities. I wish I could gift a few articles a month to people like I can with the Economist app. (Heck, I’d even pay a dollar. Better than sending my friends something they won’t read because they have no interest in subscribing to a paper from a city or country they don’t live in. Not as critical, but being able to bookmark articles would be such a boon for subscribers. I want to read, reference, and share this publication. I wish it was easier to do so.

i really like the chron when it reports on substantial local news not the fluff pieces about cafe closures and random weather scares

I’d like to see more coverage of San Jose State football. You cover this controversy about the SJSU volleyball team every week, but nothing about the season that the SJSU football team is having. They hosted the #12 team in the nation last week with two of the most exciting players in college football, and nothing in the Chronicle. Spartan receive Nick Nash is the top receiver in college football.

The updates made in the last year and recently have not been improvements thus far. It used to be, if I was in the app and left it open to check a notification in something else and then went back a moment later, whatever I was reading was still there for me to continue. Now, it’s gone and goes back to the home page. (It didn’t used to.) The comics in the app are not updated timely. Very frustrating. I want to read all the comics in the morning all together. Sometimes none are updated or just a couple are. It is supposed to be that if you touch into an e-edition article, it will open up the article for you to read individually. Sometimes it doesn’t do that on some articles and it never does it on the Dear Abby column. Again, many frustrating items.

Please bring back the comics you just killed and keep the section up to date. It’s a travesty.
