Description

Open Microsoft Access databases on your Mac – regardless if they are in the older MDB or the newer ACCDB format. • view, search and export your data • the only universal Access database viewer – supports MDB, ACCDB, MDE and ACCDE • no hidden costs, no in-app-purchases This app makes viewing Access file quick and easy. A convenient search function lets you find what you are looking for. Double clicking rows brings up a record window perfect for reading long text or inspecting images. MDB Viewer plays nice with others: export your database as Excel files, as CSV files, convert it to SQLite, or create SQL dumps. Because all apps have their unique intricacies, the documentation includes detailed instructions for transferring your data to Filemaker, Bento, Excel, Numbers, Open Office, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite and Address Book. While MDB Viewer shows all the data stored in the database, it can not display forms or queries, and it can not modify databases. Did a simple comparison between MS Access (Windows) and MDB ACCDB Viewer (Mac). My file contains 5 tables of which 4 were displayed identically. However, two columns in the 5th table were displayed with integer numbers not even close to the original file content. Looks like a nice software but the result is not reliable.
  • Didn't have all tables

I'm disappointed, as the tables that I needed were not imported, for some reason... Hopefully, I will have use for this at one time or another, as I don't think I can return it... :(

My startup has been using this product to convert large Access datasets to SQL for 2 years. It has never let us down. It is fast and easy to use. The SQL exports work perfectly.
  • Solved my problem, thanks to prompt support

Had a dozen Access databases to convert, most of which Access 2013 and Access 2003 on PC users computers converted. But 2 caused Access to give error messages without converting. MDB ACCDB Viewer converted 1 of those databases, which had over 14,000 records, pretty quickly to Excel, and quicker to CSV. The 2nd file would not open because was an "Access 1.0 file". The developer of MDB ACCDB Viewer, Jakob Egger, worked with me to convert that file to a newer version of Access, and MDB ACCDB Viewer converted that new file to Excel and CSV immediately. Thank you!

This app does a great job of not only letting you view and seach MS Access .accdb files, but it also converts the tables to CSV files, SQL files, MS Excel files and full SQLite database. Great tool!
  • Exactly what I needed!

I need to open an access database on my mac. It opened it immediately and I was able to then export the files to a csv. I am so impressed with this product! It saved me a ton of time. Thank you!
  • Great, except...

Just a heads up that this doesn’t always work with databases created in newer versions of Access. It’s not real obvious from the description, and initially I was very disappointed when I saw "MDB ACCDB Viewer supports MDB, ACCDB, MDE and ACCDE files created with Microsoft Access 1997-2013. Later versions are not supported” pop up on my screen. I tried it on a second, very clean and simple DB created with the newer version of Access, but the big DB which used more sophisticated features bombed. The good news is since I bought this mainly for a back-end migration to MySQL, I was able to copy my tables to a new database saved as an older version, then export the SQL and load into MySQL. Everything else about this app is extremely well done, as pointed out by other reviewers. Lightning fast, clean UI, etc. But a shame to not keep such a great product updated to keep up with Access.
  • Doesn’t work for old MS Access files

The absolute easiest way to export an entire Access DB into something more accessible (I predominantly convert stuff to SQLite using this tool). Sold work
