  • Worst newspaper app ever

I subscribe to four newspapers and visit many others. The Post Dispatch app is by far the worst newspaper app I visit and quite possibly the worst overall app on the planet that charges subscription fees. The app Constantly requires a re login, articles don’t load or have missing links, tons of articles from newspaper are not on the app and stories are often days old. Literally junk. I don’t understand how this business doesn’t scrap this app and start over. Obviously they are losing money and don’t feel it’s worth the cost or effort, just as they don’t seem willing to pay for actual journalists? Good luck with that strategy as you continue to turn off customers and swirl around the drain. Once my promotional subscription is over I won’t even think of paying the full rate for this garbage.
  • Content fine, app is awful

This not about the Post-Dispatch and its content but is about the app. It’s awful. NONE the other news apps I use and subscribe to make me re-log in like this one does. And many times, re-logging in doesn’t get access to the content! This has been going on so long that I now assume it’s intentional and not a glitch. It’s like they’re actively trying to drive away long-time subscribers like me.
  • Doesn’t load

This app is pretty much junk. I am a subscriber and anytime an article does decide to load, it tells me I need to subscribe. When I am shown as logged in, articles I want to read don’t load. This has been going on for years and seems to get worse
  • Terrible app

This app is extremely weak, there is so much more that is in the paper that this app doesn’t even show. They should do away with this app and allow their content to be pulled in Apple News.
  • Hope for the opportunity to change my rating…

…But as it stands, I am very disappointed with the digital platform. I am a subscriber, living in California, and the only reason I subscribe is to keep up with the great team of reported y’all have on the baseball beat. I am a huge fan of Derrick Goold and his team, but this app lets down their great coverage with articles that don’t open, sport section links that don’t work, difficult to navigate archives… it’s really a mess. I badly miss the standalone baseball app the PD used to have. It was also buggy, but at least I was able to navigate to the content I wanted. Considering ending my subscription and just getting my baseball news from national outlets. Would kill me, but no point in paying for a service I can’t use.
  • Terrible - never loads. Ap pops ads with a touch which you often need to do to scroll for paid subs

Even when you have the silent switch on in iOS - pretty awful. The farmers commercial even starts with a loud gong. Can’t view news in peace. Scrolling through lists is also painful. Crashes less than it used to. Awful- articles frequently don’t load
  • The worst

I have used 4 newspaper apps. I am a subscriber to the STL Post Dispatch and it is the worst app. I get locked out of it. It is hard to navigate. Even the paid app has horrible junk content that looks like news stories. Just updating my review here. Today I saw an ad for Ivermectin at the bottom of my stories. (The preferred horse pill to treat Covid.) This appeared below ghoulish ads of fat and emaciated stomachs. Bizarre that a real newspaper stoops to such advertising.
  • It’s gotten worse.

This was an OK app for a long while. Just OK, but not great. Sadly, the latest update has made this a near worthless app. Often, the stories won’t even load, and now it doesn’t recognize my existing subscription. Also, the organization of articles is poor. I usually am interested in sports, and it used to be easy to choose blues vs cardinals articles. Now, it’s just one big pile of disorganization.
  • Articles not loading

Since updating to iOS 18, some stories don’t load when clicking on them. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern as to which stories will load, and which won’t. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app without any success in correcting the problem. That’s a shame because I used to enjoy the access the app gave me to the news.
  • Crashes and navigation not easy

You get the sense they don’t really care that it crashed and it is so clumsy to navigate
