    Was working fine for over 15 months, this month has turned buggy- keeps on asking me to subscribe and will not allow access. Even though my monthly subscription keeps on getting paid…….

  • Constantly requires log in

    This app has been broken for at least a year—it requires the user to log in again and again and again. And again. Every other app on iOS lets the user stay logged in. Why hasn’t this been fixed? Update October 2024: still broken, still frustrating. I’ve been a subscriber for more than 30 years, yet I’m asked to log in daily. I just click away . . .
  • Can’t sign in on app

    I’m unable to sign in on the app. It inexplicably logged me out (probably from an upgrade that wasn’t tested properly on your end). Extremely frustrated. I can sign in desktop with the same email and password I’m using on the app, but I get an incorrect username/password response on the app. Then when I try the ‘Need help signing in’ option, then I get the error ‘Can’t find any linked accounts….’ error. This needs to be be fixed as soon as possible. I doubt I’m the only user having this issue. And I mainly use the app, so I’m not getting full use of my subscription.

    The magazine is great. The app is awful. I was so glad when they added search, but search doesn’t do anything. You can type in the entire headline of an article published two days ago and it won’t show in the results. If you click on the article on your feed somewhere else it doesn’t open your app—it takes you to the website and requires you to log in again. For heaven’s sake, I just want to read the content I paid for!
  • Signs me out every time I close the app

    For multiple years I’ve been signing back in every single time I open the app. I put up with it because its good journalism and I do most of my reading on mobile. The only thing that’s gotten better is that now it takes slightly fewer taps to autofill my login information. The process is still clunkier than most logins. But you know what would be better than a less clunky login? Staying logged in for more than one article. The app is otherwise clean and usable.

    All the articles they want to serve in categories they choose, but no ability to search or actually read the print edition online. The journalism is first rate. The app is a middle finger to the reader.
  • Ad pop-ins very disruptive

    Not sure when this change occurred, but the way ads materialize as you're reading a story is incredibly disruptive. Y'all need to have all of the ads (or at least ad placements, you can still have the images themselves wait to load if there are performance concerns i guess) load at story opening. Reading a paragraph and then having the entire thing shift up by some random amount of space is INCREDIBLY irritating and a very poor user experience.

    I reached out to customer service to see how I could get the print as well as the digital subscription. I noted that I had a 13 dollar a year subscription due to renewing at some rate from a few years ago and they didn’t reply but get this - BLOCKED me from accessing my account that is still paid for for the year….
