  • What good does “downloading” do?

I still cannot read the WSJ edition without internet. Again, What good does “downloading” do?
  • Racist and Xenophobic Narratives

Propagates hateful, racist and xenophobic propaganda and incites violence of minorities. Unreliable and biased coverage of news.
  • Dark mode?

This really a simple thing, so I’m not sure how you get it wrong. Dark mode for individual apps is essential for many folks, myself included, and to not have it as a separate setting is just lazy (or deliberately stupid, your pick). 2 stars because it’s not awful, but no dark mode ensures a sub-optimal rating. Get it together, guys. While you’re at it, when are you going to finish fixing the crossword section on the iPad app?
  • DONT GET A SUBSCRIPTION

Unfortunately had to get a subscription for a class when I was in college. I have now been graduated for 6 months and have just got a random billing of $40 (way more than the "$1 month fee" that they advertised when creating a account). Attempted to contact customer service just to find out they don't give refunds. Overall would never recommend such a platform, not even to my worst enemy. When news is readily available and free all over the internet. Wouldn't put it past Wall Street for scamming and deceiving the working people out of money. Just a bunch of classless, pathetic, greedy "people" that try to make you pay for misinformation.
  • Not worth the cost

At $50+/month this is one of the most unaffordable news options available. Discounted affordable rates are available for a time but when they expire beware that costs will multiply by over 10x. Dishonest reps do nothing to help you purchase an affordable subscription. Go with another news service unless you are a finance executive who can actually afford $50+/month for mediocre news.
  • Very poor app

Some stories are video only, preceded by annoying ads. The format of some stories, which is presumably intended to be clever, requires excessive scrolling to get through poorly-designed graphics. I’ve yet to complete any of those articles. And the app often crashes when you back out of an article. Given the high cost of a subscription, one would expect better. Apparently my money is being spent somewhere else.
  • App is great but please add comments

Love the WSJ app—it does everything it should. But would be great if we could view the website comments in the app
  • Solid content but frustrating UX

I like the quality of news delivered through the app, but it feels like every other link I tap (especially in the Live Markets section) opens in a Safari popup instead of the app itself. This is already not great, but I’m also not logged in once I get to the popup, so it prompts me to subscribe, sending me through the entire authorization flow every time I click a new article.
  • Annoyingly Biased

Constant opinion pieces being sent to my phone non-stop. I also only receive my physical paper once a week when it should be daily. What happened to journalism? I’m not affiliated with either party but this paper is very left leaning. Just report the news please. I am smart enough to make my own opinions.
  • WSJ app is slow and unresponsive

I will can the full subscription as Google news is better than this new format. Support will not respond. Still terrible….9/21/23 Got a response and saw some improvement- thanks WSJ 10/02/24. The recent app performance is at a low point. Other comments have pointed out the specific issues correctly and I will assume the WSJ digital staff can correct them. It doesn’t surprise me that this happens- publishing a digital newspaper must be extremely difficult and the WSJ digital team seems to find every opportunity to make deprovements.
