    Do not recommend. Clunky, inefficient “job posting” process that leads to inaccurate details and unsuccessful match-ups. It’s difficult to effectively communicate job requirements, and when you think you have found a good match, you learn through direct messaging that the person isn’t available for what it said in their profile. I’m not sure exactly how the site is constructed, but it makes me wonder if caregivers and job- posters both pay for the service and if the structure is different for caregivers (ie, do they have to pay to update their profiles, or is some of the information inaccurate?). The results I’ve had beg the question: Who is benefiting from the subscription? The job poster? The caregiver? Neither? Is it just the platform provider who is having success here?

    Aside from paying for the subscription- there will be an additional hold to actually contact someone for information on whether they can babysit or not. If they agree during the period of the hold- great! BUT if they cancel day OF , they still get paid. I seen a review on a babysitter who canceled on someone day OF. That’s very unfortunate and not convenient for us struggling parents. Please remove that hold for us parents looking for a stress free app to find someone to care for out little one!

    I went on here to look for a one time cleaning but it was an absolute nightmare. I got over 50+ messages for the job i had posted but it was very overwhelming. People were sending messages about their personalities, hobbies, and a “they would be happy to assist your needs” but i don’t care about any of that stuff. Some people don’t respond back which makes no sense why bother texting me your interested in the job, in the first place ??? Some of them would go ghost and not show up for an estimate. It took me a month to find a person and then just for her to now show up the day of cleaning 😐. Also, paying for a $40 membership just for people to not respond, no shows, or charge so much is outrageous!!!!

    The service is fine but using the app is an exercise in frustration: - Opening a notification often results in a splash screen that doesn’t load - Messages view has an animation bug that interrupts the ability to actually navigate messages - Loading time for various pages feels like the app is hanging
  • The UI of this app makes me want to cry

    The UI of this app masks me want to throw my phone across the room. It is so laggy and infuriating to use.

    There’s weird little quirks with the app I put in a start/stop time that were 10 days apart and got the error message “must be at least 2 hours” and changed the time on the end date. Uh, 10 days is already greater than 2 hours. You cannot change your password unless you’re on a computer even after tapping on request desktop site. The app or mobile browser cannot do it. When you forget your password you can’t simply reset your password the best you can do is get a link to login without password. I also got some API errors but that’s probably not common maybe a server was down Business practice. They wanted to charge my card about 900 bucks before I even talked to a caregiver. Based on the highest possible daily rate across the 10 days plus their booking fee. Well it was 10 calendar days but it was planning to negotiate an every other day drop in because that’s sufficient for cats. And if the person wanted more than 5 days * their daily rate because of the long duration (but hopefully less than a full 10 days) that would be a reasonable conversation. But Care just wanted all the $ up front.

    We just signed up for this subscription. Already we are getting problems with our account. They are having trouble verifying our information for some reason. We have reached out multiple times. I have submitted correct information multiple times due to continued emails saying information could not be verified. No resolve. We need help this Thursday and so on. Now we are very hesitant to use care.com at all. We have also reached out regarding removal of an add on. Apparently that also has to be approved by someone for removal. Mind you there is no phone number to call. The live chat is the only way to contact someone. I don’t believe this should be as complicated as it is. Removal of an add on should be made easier with control on the subscribers end. We are paying you! The wait for response is 24-72 hours. Add a call center! Also they do not issue refund. I don’t appreciate the way this is set up.
