Description

Welcome! You are a short helicopter ride away from becoming one of the most celebrated and admired city mayors of all time. This is Cityscapes: Sim Builder! A brand new, sustainable take on classic city building games, and brought to you by veteran sim builders. ::::: A RICH CITY BUILDING EXPERIENCE - Cityscapes will get you thinking. As Mayor you need to make meaningful decisions and build carefully thought out systems, so as to protect the health and happiness of your citizens. - Citizens have basic needs of course - they need housing, jobs and shops, and a means to travel between them. - Distance matters - industry and road traffic create pollution. It is important to think sustainably when building transportation networks. - Citizens need utilities - power, clean water and garbage collection. - And as their Mayor, you’ll quickly need to start strategizing about policing, education, fire safety and medical care. As your citizens develop more complex needs you’ll have to plan how to provide tranquil green spaces for them to unwind in. - Have you got what it takes to make the right choices to develop a thriving metropolis? ::::: CITY PASS - The City Pass is a monthly event that enables you to earn exclusive parks, buildings, landmarks and other special items. You progress in the pass by completing daily and weekly tasks. ::::: UNLOCKS - Raise your player level and unlock more cities to build in a variety of rich biomes. - Get to unlock land parcels and discover natural curiosities hidden in the landscape. You can even build famous architectural landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty, giving your city indomitable style and instant attractiveness. ::::: IMAGINATION - Stunning 3D architecture and vistas will captivate your imagination as you watch your city grow. Collect diverse building blueprints approved for your unique city and be awed by the endless design possibilities. ::::: MEET - Meet Anne Council who runs the city challenges but beware of May Grede CEO whose middle name is ‘Sabotage’. Friendly advisors such as Paula Powers and Frankie Flint are always there to help. - And check in on your citizens who will keep you in the know with what life is like in your city. They will come to you with problems and make suggestions as to how to solve them. Be sure to listen to them, every citizen wants to feel heard. ::::: SUSTAINABILITY - Choice matters when building a city of the future, one that is profitable, thriving and fully sustainable. Strategize about both environmental and social sustainability; reduce waste and pollution whilst also managing business impacts, both positive and negative on your citizens. Design cities in which your citizens want to live, happy and healthy side by side and feel as proud and fulfilled as they are!

Great game but the achievements mostly don’t unlock. I’ve merged tons of buildings but don’t have merge 5 buildings achievements. I’ve unlocked garbage and fire and stuff in River but the achievements do not unlock.

I can't stand these “games” where you are not playing the game; you are just being told to push buttons. Now you need to build five houses. Now you need to build a factory, a power plant, etc. I just want to build what I want and not be a “mayor” who does nothing but push the buttons I am told to push. 🤦‍♂️ So I tried Freeplay, but its not free. You can't just create. You need to earn things in the story mode before getting them in the poorly named freeplay. Such a waste of time!

  • Lots of bugs NOT fixed

Although, I submitted bug reports after almost each version, the issues introduced two versions ago are still there. Honestly, If these glaring things, which were not there before, were not fixed, I don’t know what you actually did fix! Somebody wanted to redo the value of everything, fine. But you seem to have changed things haphazardly: “add police kiosk or volunteer fire station that say +6, when it still adds +4, as before. Same with main fire station and police station, before was + 6 now it says +8, yet still adds +6, as before. It just seems so sloppy. Somebody needs to review everything that was changed 2 versions ago, the value of things (which makes no sense anymore), as well as how much personnel they ad, to at least match what it says. You obviously don’t test these releases. Anyone who plays the game and played the game before can see these issues immediately.
  • Needs UX improvements

The game feels like a “clicker” because it requires constant tapping. To make matters worse, the camera really needs to stop moving every time you need to tap on a building (which is constant). I feel pretty motion sick after playing for 10 minutes.

Love playing in Story Mode. Are there plans to make more blank templates available? A lot of the fun for me is trying to envisage what the city will become based on the terrain/geography. Free Play seems so unstructured - would love (and pay for) an expansion pack with like 40 new cities to play from scratch.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I am now! Awesome, enjoyable game with absolutely no bugs, so good job developers!

This game is solely tutorial and not in the spirit of the SimCity games. All it does is tell you what to do. I’m going back to Tropico where I have more freedom to do what I want.
  • Annoying Pop-Ups and No Window Mode…

I was so looking forward to playing this game. I have downloaded it twice and tried to play but two things made me give up. The first is the unending pop-ups of little annoying talking heads. That you can’t turn off. I just want to play a quiet relaxing city building game… not have characters from the city constantly bother me. On top of that, there is no window mode - the game MUST be full screen at all times. Which makes no sense, it’s a casual sim game.
