  • Another upgrade/fix??? in last 7 days, but you still didn’t fix anything

No fix for the break 5 days ago of the reply window, iPad in landscape orientation, no fix for broken …See more links in reply window and no reconsideration of the terrible changes to the …See more function. And I see Related Notes are still with us despite users myriad complaints. You’re driving us other dev companies to consider creating an app that does it right, draws X users and erodes Substack’s market. Don’t push it—$100 million, expert coders and competent management says it can be done.

They force people to install the app and give their phone number in order to access a gift subscription, and request permission to access all of your contacts.
  • On Uncertainty

Your definition is far and away better than the American Heritage Dictionary! Another poignant essay my friend. ON UNCERTAINTY The ratio of uncertainty to certainty diminishes as our traversal through time teaches us more and more. When we are born everything is uncertain but as we learn where our milk comes from the uncertainty starts to fade. This same thing happens when we confront every drama of our existence. It’s all uncertain until it becomes certain. Getting a driver’s license and applying to college are a few examples. Life, in effect, is going from the uncertain to the certain in a series of small steps. History and Science prove this every day. Look how much was uncertain to the caveman as compared to us. Until we are certain as to how the world began we always have uncertainty. For certain! Phil Ellerin

  • Her sensitivity in our numb hours

The Rev. Peggy Haymes has the gift of discernment and a generosity to share it with us in our hours of greatest need. She also has life experiences that have grown into wisdom, in herself and also toward the experiences of others, you and me. Yet what strikes me as perhaps her most useful gift is an innate sensitivity that serves us when we are numb in grief. She speaks and writes, not too much, yet just enough. And then she is simply there, with us, in the quiet. Susan Borwick

Thank you! Borrowing audiobook Fear and will attempt to get War. This is what I’ve been missing. Look forward to reading my Substack recommendations. Thanks to The NY Times for their article mentioning the app. 👍

Won’t log me in. I click the button from the email and get a never-ending spinning wheel in the app. I’ve tried multiple times. Not even sure why it’s forcing me to download this app just to subscribe to a new newsletter, but the least it could do is function.

I didn’t even know what substack was. I mainly joined because of Jameela Jamil! I am happy I did because I have discovered so much valuable and enjoyable content to read or follow!

We need all voices expressed to have a truly whole and functioning society. Getting our information from sound bites on the socials can be great for awareness but can lead people down rabbit holes as we don’t get the full picture or history of what is happening. Thank you Substack for a place to allow all of us to have a voice and choice without the threat of censorship.
