  • Pinch to zoom: update

By pinch to zoom not working I am referring the the map generating results *everywhere*, not just my general location. The point of this is to not have to search a specific area that is not guaranteed to have results.
  • Pinch to zoom reveals no Michelin restaurants in the USA

Nothing appears when I try to see the map. My location services are on and app permissions are granted. What kind of app for restaurants of these caliber does not have proper developer support for such basic features that indie-applications can accomplish? I am in Indiana and I tried using different locations like our neighbors in Chicago and they appear immediately. Please address this issue as I would like to venture to these various places.
  • Wrong Pin in the map

Im currently here in Vietnam i’ve been using the app. I just noticed that one of the pen address is not the actual location. Pho Hoa Pasteur it’s way way off so if you’re trying to check their map, I’d suggest you go Google maps first to be sure.
  • Curation!

Admittedly, the content is sparse, which makes it kind of hard to justify this as an app rather than just accessing it on the web. But I really like the idea of a genuinely curated experience. Every other booking site will add everything as if it’s the best restaurant or hotel imaginable, but most are, by definition, around average. This app cuts away all of that so you can focus on what’s good. Now, I think they still need a bit more, and maybe what they could do is have “value picks” and other qualifiers (Bib is good though it doesn’t do quite the same thing) to allow them to have more options but still retain the credibility for the things they list as 1+ stars. It’s a tough, thankless job to be the one company being honest and rigorous with their reviews in a world where volume reigns supreme in business models, so I feel for them.
  • How can a rating app be this bad?

Can’t use without signing up (I just want to find a place for dinner). Can’t search near me. Can’t search by criteria. I see my city and arbitrarily three others. I’m not in China thank you very much. Oh and the list of restaurants in my city appears to be 5 restaurants long. You couldn’t make a more useless app if you tried. Although maybe I’m using it wrong. I gave it five min and uninstalled.
  • Phoenix nothing

Phoenix which is 5th biggest city in US has nothing and also nothing in Scottsdale? Also it has a bug about needing location services for search that only went away after I killed and restarted the app. Also naming the app GuideMichelin which makes it harder to find in location services. I’m giving 2 stars but that’s super generous for a half baked implementation of an iconic brand.
  • Unusable

On iPhone 16, iOS 18.1 the app now is unusable unless you make an account. Didn’t use to be like this.
  • Missing top SF joint: NOPA

Michelin is a political joke if it’s missing NOPA SF, consistently one of the best, liveliest and well established restaurants in the city. The app owner is missing the point by asking me to recommend a restaurant open for nearly two decades with thousands of reviews.

Easy to use, easy to find exactly the right place. Like red RedGuide. It quicker. Amazing that it is free.

Price fixé or à la carte; excellent service, presentation, quality ingredients and atmosphere. Not good for groups and no kids! Gem in an unexpected location!
