I would have previously given the app 4 stars for its excellent core functionality but high monthly fee and apparent lack of a few minor convenience features.* When I launched the app yesterday, I was prompted to update to a new version, which seems to be worse in almost every imaginable way: The app feels slower/worse. The refresh rate of the camera has been cut, so even slight movement caused by an unsteady hand can be enough to cause blurring. The processing time after snapping a picture feels consistently longer than before, and perhaps worst of all, the counting seems less accurate than before. In the small sample size of two days using the new version, I noticed two or three cases of pills not being counted, which almost never happened before. As a result, an app that I liked but thought was rather expensive is now an app that I am unlikely to continue using. * Is there not a feature to do a running count? If I’m counting to 360 and it’s going to take me three or four pictures to get there, I always have to get out a calculator or pen and paper to add up the values.

The app has been very beneficial, before the sub was just around 10 bucks per month but now it’s increased significantly to around 20-25 bucks. The most recent update on 10-12-2024 states there has been performance upgrades as well as bug fixes. However I feel as if it has introduced additional bugs as well as performance degradation. The camera keeps backing out to the homescreen and freezes on a blank/black screen, not only that but I have noticed that the time to get the final results has increased a few seconds. Another point to make is that the app takes a lower resolution image which has probably been made to “increase performance” however it makes it harder for the user to make out the pills that are close to each other. The last pet peeve that I have about the app is the fact that I’ve been having to constantly keep re-logging into my account every few hours. -iPhone 15 pro

Great app. I think I’ve counted 400 tiny tablets at once with picture mode. I wish there was a one time payment option for the full app instead of a sub but it is what it is.
  • Slow, almost useless

Requires a 5 to 8 seconds delay when opening app. This is while it loads, then connects to account, then transmits your data, then prepares Home Screen. It does not jump right to the camera to count. Counting is the only reason anyone tries the app. And this app only counts a few times before asking for money and blocking further use. No one needs to save counts in their phone or manage inventory in their phone. It is not going to save anyone’s life or job to keep pictures of counts, especially since this app is not compliant with any laws or workplace regulations. “Ten counts” is insufficient for even 5 minutes of work. While you take 30 seconds to load, employees want to move to the next customer. You are just too slow and limited.

This app has helped me tremendously at my job with counting Clients medications. It’s brought my pill count time down from an hour and a half to 45 mins. This app is very accurate! I love that every pill that it counts it marks it on the screen with a green dot. You also can save the medication your counting for a back up reference. So if there is an error you can go back to this app for reference. I suggest anyone that has to count medications for their job to download this app cause it’s a life saver and time saver!
  • Price Increase Disappointment

I have used this app for almost 2 years completely for free as a medical professional. I was ok with the change to being a paid service when I got the notification that a subscription is required for more than a certain amount of counts per day. I clicked on it fully intending to sign up and pay maybe $5ish per month to continue to use the app. I was absolutely shocked at the $25 per month fee. I will not be subscribing. I think a more affordable fee would bring a lot more subscribers. I will be looking for more affordable option that I can use more than a few counts per day.
  • Ridiculous subscription price

An app that serves one purpose does not need a ridiculous subscription
  • The monthly fee is absurd

I had been using Pilleye for a few months before I was prompted to pay. I had no issue supporting the developers of a super useful app that comes in handy at the beginning of every one of my nursing shifts. And then I saw the cost. $25 a month for something that does one simple, albeit useful, task, in my opinion is laughable. I will not be paying this, I would consider paying that annually, even $40, annually, but $300?? Get over yourselves!

    High monthly pay.
  • 300 dollars for A year subscription?

The pro version was 30 dollars a year, and I wanted to support the developers of the app. I thought that was a reasonable price. Now they’ve jacked up the price to 300 dollars a year. Completely unreasonable especially when the app requires very good internet and doesn’t always work. I will be deleting the app and using something else. Thanks for the response but 25 dollars a month still equals 300 dollars a year decrease the price please
