    At first I misunderstood the gem system but now I understand. They added stories on Manta from other sites that would not have been accessible without the gem system. The authors probably would not have given them the rights to their comics without the individual purchases of each chapter. There are still many stories available with the subscription. Those stories would have already been on the app to begin with without the gem purchases. I enjoy the comics I’m reading on here.

    For about a year I’ve been a regular Manta reader. I’m a free reader who occasionally buys premium to access the end of my favorite series. But just recently, Manta has changed the access of my favorite books. Now instead of waiting a day / a week to get a free pass, now I have to BUY PREMIUM to access ALL episodes. This is ridiculous and I will not be buying premium anymore until Manta fixes the series where they took away daily passes!!

    I used to love this app and read all the time I bought the subscription too. But while having the subscription they introduced gems and now even if I’m paying a subscription I still can’t read everything on the app… because they don’t give you gems with the subscription they just give you certain reads with subscription… so don’t get the subscription bc it’s not even worth the whole app.

    I’ve been an unlimited subscriber for years now and have thoroughly enjoyed the app. At first, I was a little disappointed that their stories were all censored, but I overlooked it because they had a great selection. However, with this new update that requires you purchasing gems in order to read some of the titles even though you’re a paying subscriber will make me cancel my subscription. Once I’m done reading the few stories left on my list I will not be renewing my subscription. What a shame. And please don’t give me the generic response everyone else is getting, it’s ridiculous and insincere.

    I love a lot of the stories on this app. But I hate the structure of the app itself. Unless you pay monthly for the app, you can read the most recent episodes. It always annoyed me when a season would come to an end and I’d have to wait months for more uploads before reading those final few episodes of the season. Same case when a story ends! Im blocked from finishing this story because I need to pay to read the last few episodes. Now, more recently, almost all of the series I have saved have become subscription based ONLY. So these stories that I’m invested in and have already read 100+ episodes of are suddenly no longer available for me to read. At this point I’d rather just go to a sketchy site to read these stories freely.

    How is it just that you advertise free comics and after a few months make it so I can only read them by paying? What’s the point of having this app and buying the comics when I can just find them any where else and they won’t make me pay for it. Ridiculous

    i have had this app for 3 years. i haven’t been on it for a month, i got on to find out that now you have to buy all the episodes?! like what that’s so stupid. it used to be you could read one episode every 24 hours which was great but to have to pay for every single episode no thank you!

    Amazing stories and I’ve loved many of them. However, as I’ve progressed through my current reads, they’ve started making the free ones only available to premium. I don’t have money to pay for that and they’re making almost ALL of the things I’m ready not free. It’s really annoying. AND since each free episode you have to wait 24 hours I can only read one per day. It doesn’t help me get done reading them before they aren’t free anymore.

    The selections are absolutely amazing! Has been my favorite app, until they started to add gems to read certain stories. I pay for the membership and you are wanting me to pay more for gems. It’s completely ridiculous. People who pay for the membership should get to view all of the products. Very disappointed in this decision.

  • Manta Unlimited is NOT unlimited

    I loved this app when I first downloaded it. I loved it so much, that I even paid for a monthly subscription so I could read whatever I wanted. But lately they’ve changed things. On top of the monthly fee, you now need to purchase gems to read a lot of the comics. Each episode costs a certain number of gems. It’s obnoxious and honestly really disappointing. I’m already paying for unlimited access, but that doesn’t matter. Once the current comics I’m readying are finished, I’ll be uninstalling the app and looking for something else. It’s a shame because they have such great content and such a wide variety, but I’m not about to go broke just trying to read the things I like. I’ve noticed the developer commenting on other reviews about how “unlimited” means you can read anything. I will reiterate now that you CANNOT. Even with the unlimited subscription (which I have had for over a year), some comics and episodes still cost “gems” to read, which require you to purchase with actual currency.
