    This app is horrible - the listening element to hear my Italian never works! And the story lines they use to teach are dumb. Save your money and use another app!!!

    Jumpspeak touts its ability to make people fluent in Mandarin on the web and in social media ads, but when you check into the actual app, this language is never listed. Hmmm, maybe claiming you teach the most common language in the world gets people to subscribe without looking first. Is it always all about the money??

  • Poor Quality—Do Not Use

    I’m pretty sure the French “tutor” is not a native speaker, as she makes grammatical errors while speaking. Furthermore, the AI is terrible—emphasizing the wrong syllable, using the wrong pronouns… this app will teach you a VERY poor quality of French, and I can tell that even as a low intermediate speaker.

    I have buyer's remorse. I am a serious Russian learner. I paid for this app just to speak to the AI, and boy, do I regret it. The app can't go 5 minutes without hallucinating. 1) The messages I get won't play the sounds. 2) I'll get messages in what seems to be computer code. 3) Some of the messages won't translate when I have translate mode on. 4) When I'm speaking Russian, it transcribes something completely different, sometimes in Latin script. I tried it with Italian and Spanish—two languages I already speak natively—and it's the same thing. 5) The corrections after the conversation will correct me on sentences the AI ITSELF suggested. 6) The screen turns off in the middle of every lesson to the point where I'm constantly having to tap it to be able to read. 7) The writing portion of the Russian lessons makes no sense. There is NO actual writing/typing involved. 8) There is no way to turn off the annoying sound effects every time I go to a new sentence. I wish I could get my money back. I don't even know how to do that. Thank God I didn't pay for the lifetime subscription. Sorry guys. I wish my review was better, but the bugs are unbearable at this point, especially for someone who is studying a language for hours a day.

    I had been doing Duolingo for a couple years but still got tongue tied. Junpspeak has dramatically increased my ability to speak to people, even if what I say is still a confusing mess- lol

    Not all languages indicated in the promotional ads have a full course. While the languages which have full course seem good there are languages where only the AI tutor can be used. As an example, Danish is only offered as AI tutoring which is not very good a speech recognition or teaching pronunciation, grammar or sentence structure.

    Beware of introducing your information. This app has abusive practices, do not subscribe and please, do not introduce any paying method if you don’t want to lose money. Terrible experience.

    Horrific!! Not very good, they do not stand behind their product. Over priced and they do not send invoices but they bill every month. It is not a one time fee. Do not recommend!! They will not refund you.

  • Makes big promises. Doesn’t deliver. Also draconian about renewals

    I didn’t use Jumpspeak after the first month because it doesn’t deliver on the promise of helping a learner come up with things to say. It’s no better than any other app, just more expensive in order to pay for all that advertising. Then they renewed me for another year without warning. when I asked for a refund after seeing it on my credit card statement they were like F.U., you’re stuck with us for another year hahaha!
