Being a new hunter everything can feel a bit overwhelming. GOHUNT makes it easier to get going. From the app, planning hunts, to the customer support team answering my questions on gear. Not only is it worth the $ but most importantly it’s worth your time.

I have had all of the the mapping services and GOHUNT is the best do it all and do it best mapping I have even seen. And not to mention all the kickbacks you get in the gear shop, and wide gear selection to pick from. Solid believe that this app makes me successful!

I love everything about GoHunt and the app. But I do have 2 complaints. Can we get it on Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and compatible with a iPad or tablet.

I continue to get charged even though I canceled a year ago. It’s not easy to cancel either as they make you email them, but never respond.

To give reverence to my review, I’ve used this app 16 straight days of hunting this far. I pay for the $150 service. I’ve had the app most of the year. I’ve hunted numerous locations, arduous terrain, with many hunt days being out in the mountains all day, other hunt days doing morning, afternoon, and evening hunts in multiple locations. I’ve put tons of hours of use into the app. Number one complaint I have is it isn’t as intuitive as it ought to be. Correcting this would likely alleviate some of the negativity surrounding end user experience. I didn’t understand that downloading Layers did not include the map of the state downloaded. I now understand that would be impossible given the large data size of a relatively small footprint on the map. This should have clicked with me because I understand imagery requires a lot of storage space. Second complaint was often times the app logs out on its own. I could be using the app, then let my display go to sleep as I continue on my hunt, less than 15 minutes later I pull the phone out, hoping to get a quick verification of my position only to discover it logged me out. I’ve experienced the app not log back in until I get signal, take what feels like minutes to log back in without signal, and log back in without signal relatively quickly. Seemingly no rhyme or reason for the different experiences. Another complaint, I’ve experienced on a handful of occasions where your own location on the map is miles away from your actual location. On one occasion this became quite stressful as I was beginning to feel off track to my way back to my ATV, and to experience this added to the stress. Fortunately I found my way back, because the app never fixed itself until I reached an area where I had 1 bar of signal strength. The most common problem I’ve experienced is the field of view cone on your own position being offset 90 to 180 degrees. It’s very frustrating, especially when traversing new trails or access roads. My last item of concern is the level of detail of the imagery. It’s not great. It’s rather poor. The other very popular app has much finer detail and my experience with it is much greater. I emailed customer support with 4 issues. I explained that I rarely have service but wanted to resolve the issues. A couple days later I received a response. The response addressed only the offline mapping issue. Instead of telling me in email how to resolve the issue, they sent me a link to a YouTube tutorial. I thought this response was completely out of touch and showcases that their technical/customer support personnel are not actual hunters, so they cannot relate to life without the internet. They did not address any of my other issues. They just wanted to know what Build number for the software I was running, which was the most current Build at the time. I was going to mark this review down an additional star to account for my experience with Customer Service, but I’ve decided only to deduct 2 stars for the actual app.
