    Upward is a decent app but social completely ruined it. Now my feed is filled with men when I’m on here to date women. I deleted the app cause there’s no option to turn social off and it’s gay

    I feel like the idea is there, and the intentions are good. It’s trying to be different, and hosts people who are like minded. I find myself frustrated though, because it seems like they only show you same 10 people over and over again, no matter how many times you swipe or log into the app. It’s causing quite a few people to lose interest in using the service. I understand the app needs to make money, but it feels like it’s holding back tons of great people until you pay. It should throw us a bone occasionally. Not everyone can afford to pay for it.

    I’m super disappointed with this ap. I purchased a week “trial” and couldn’t believe all the in ap purchases I had to make in order to do anything! After that I had zero activity on my account for 4 days and suddenly on the 5th day 140 “likes” appeared on my page out of nowhere. 🙄🙄🙄Now my account will close in 1 day I got 2 days of “activity” for $30. BAD SERVICE POOR MANAGEMENT I will always tell people about my horrible experience here!!

    I suggest being cautious with paying as I have found that either something is completely wrong with their distance preferences within the app (not showing you everyone within that distance) which could be a problem just for me or everyone else, or they are deliberately not showing you everyone in your area. The reason being, in the area that I see my likes, I have had people who were closer distances (less than 100 miles) that have liked me. However, in the normal swiping section of the app I continue to be shown a majority of individuals who are over 125 miles away on average. Not only are these people that have liked me never been shown in the swiping portion, there are also randomly scattered within the swiping portion people who are closer than the average 125+ miles ppl being shown to me. This means their distance preferences are only good for a certain amount of people a day or whenever, and other profiles are hidden for who knows how long that are a reasonable distance away. It continues to give me people over 100 miles away even though I have traveled and been in areas near Washington DC and in Virginia Beach. It’s a good app in format, but I can’t help but feel that something is off technically or deliberately here. However, I am one person and suggest you take my review lightly and see how your experience on the app goes.

    It would actually be a good app if I actually got people in my area. Having to match with people who live 100+ miles away is a problem. Not everyone is willing to do long distance. Plus the filters doesn’t work, it will give you a couple people that are in the area or your type but after that it doesn’t do it anymore. I’ve read other reviews about this still happening even after paying for subscription so I’ll definitely never try to pay for subscription. Upward, you guys can really do better. How unfortunate that there’s so many reviews about these issues and it’s still not resolved.

    Decided to pay $19 to see all the likes I got. It never said that it would only show the MUTUAL likes. I also tried out sending the little messages which are $9 for 3. For someone to see the messages you send, they also have to be paying money! Do not waste money on this app!! I bet you the ceo isn’t even Christian. You know what I mean.

    Y’all have to give a little more before wanting people to pay. I tried to star a couple of profiles this morning, only did one before being prompted to join. I can’t see who likes my profile, I couldn’t even scroll on the screen without paying. That to me is BASIC. The furthest we should be able to go for free is a chat. Then maybe creating a “let’s set up a date” and THAT prompts a subscription. Or free use allows you 10 likes, lets you view 10 ppl that liked you. Something like that but 1 or nothing?! No thanks.
