A Better Routeplanner (ABRP)

Edit: No, it’s just that all my saved data re: my vehicle was deleted somehow. To add the live data, you have to add a new vehicle and any additional configuration. Original Post: Within the past week I’ve noticed that I no longer have access to live data from my OBD reader. For that matter, I can’t find any configuration settings in the app that allows me to troubleshoot it. It’s like that entire section is gone/disappeared.

Well I took some of the reviews as being a pretty good app for Tesla trips. Was ok at first but seems that it doesn’t interact with teslas pre conditioning and at that point becomes useless to use it as a standalone app. You still need to plan out the trip with the Tesla routing so you can precondition the battery to charge better. On our way back home the app kept us in Indiana and no matter what I did, kept us there whenever I tried planning the trip even though I was already two states away. Never notified me that it was disconnected from the Tesla API and honestly, doesn’t make sense that planning wasn’t working for a full day. A lot of work needs to be done to make it more useful for long trips and understanding the range etc. glad I only paid for a month.

Signed up for a year’s subscription last month, not the OBD dongle they recommend, specifically to access it from CarPlay. Now it’s telling me “Accessing CarPlay is a premium feature, please subscribe!”. Tried rebooting car and phone, as well as logging out and back in to my ABRP account. Submitted two reports through the subscription link, no response. Maybe this works?

Not user friendly. App compatibility, and premium features are not listed. List of compatible ODB2 divices not listed. Maps are outdated.

I have been using this app for a while and it’s very useful, especially with a Rivian, I can connect to car live data. I previously reviewed about app crashing and not able to get support. After exploring on their website and I am able to contact support. The response was quick and bug was fixed shortly after.

This app gives me shorter trip times including longe charging stops than google maps without any stops. That's impossible! It is annoying and the support just ignores all bug reports regarding this issue. Update: I already created several bug reports and someone requested more informations on them but nothing more happened. This bug exists since many months if not years and it does not get fixed.

Created an account with username/password. Suddenly login changed to email/password. Formerly, email was not required. Why did this new login method suddenly change? Now my saved plans are gone. App developers have no consideration for users. Why this slap in the face? Use at your own peril.

The app worked just fine, after recent update I have to make an account with them to continue to use basic functions. Haven’t you collected enough of my personal information? Response to a developer’s response: I am only stating that functions that previously worked fine without account are now not working.

Two EVs I am considering purchasing are not on the app.

We just did a 4,100 mile round trip from Oregon to Illinois and used ABRP to plan the trip. It worked flawlessly. When we ended up at a charger that was out of commission, it got us to another one with plenty of charge. ABRP makes driving an electric car on a long trip easy to accomplish.
