  • A must have for EV travel.

Absolute must have for planning any type of travel with an EV. You can manage your trip down to a micro level, because when it comes down to it, getting to the entrance of a national park is not sufficient if you’re going to be driving around inside it. The amount of away points you can put in is incredible. This is a fantastic route planner and I use it all the time for the last 10 years.

GMC Sierra has been on the road for over six months and still not available here as a car choice. Other planning apps have it already. No love

ABRP rocks. I use it to plan all my Tesla trips, but it can be used for any EV. I like it’s planning better than Tesla’s While tunable, its focus is not to minimize the number of stops, but to minimize total stoppage time. Nice feature, you can override the planned stop time at individual stops… say you are planning to stay longer than “optimal” to have lunch. It adapts this new info into the remaining plan. Possibly most important, you can set state of charge on arrival.
  • Ridiculously limiting and a waste of time

I have an Audi e-tron, that like so many of them, doesn’t get anywhere near it’s advertised range (never buying another Audi), but this app does not let me set what I actually get as a reasonable choice. It picks one particular charging station 99 miles away, or it goes the whole 210 mile trip. Nothing in between. What a waste of time.

Looks like they remove more and more features, “my drives” is now behind a paywall.

This app is so buggy. I try creating trips from abroad… to use when I return to my car in the states. The app fails to plan the route stating that no route can be planned. That, despite the fact that I had just driven the route in reverse three days earlier. I can so easily plan in my Tesla app, but ABRP just fails. Then I open the app 30 minutes later and the app successfully creates the plan. I save the plan, but later, can find no way to open/recall the plan. So I try to plan it again (ugh), and the app reports that it cannot create a successful plan as it finds no charging stations along the route. I’ve enabled Tesla SC, CCS, NACS and Level 2 chargers. I’ve spent a good two hours + reviewing settings, asking Chat GPT for recommendations on settings, and how to find saved plans. The app is just plain buggy. Wow, so bad!

I’ve driven electric for 10 years and 155k miles in a short range Nissan leaf. The integration with my new Silverado EV allowing real time SOC and route planning is AMAZING!!
  • It shouldn’t be this difficult

My ABRP freezes when I select “connect OBD.” How do I get past this problem? It is this unit: OBDLinkCX, which is working fine and does connect to the OBD app just fine. I have tried a few things, like deleting the OBD app. Then trying to only connect the OBD to the ABRP app. No luck. I have restarted my iPhone 16. I have cycled to Subaru Solterra on and off and on again. No luck. Perhaps the units are not compatible. I have the latest software on the OBD app and on the ABRP app. I want to love ABRP, and even have subscribed to the premium level. If I can’t connect to the ABRP app, I plan to return the OBD and give up. It should not be this difficult.
  • Not better than Google maps

I ponied up for the paid version before going on a road trip in my Mach E. Two problems 1) Twice, the app routed me to the old version of the Tesla superchargers that don’t work with my adapter. 2) Twice more, it indicated that there was no route available when a search via Google maps revealed multiple options. Great idea, substandard execution.
