BUDGETING YOU CAN LIVE (AND SAVE) WITH The best budget is based on reality. And the reality is there are things we have to pay for and things we want to buy. Banktivity’s Envelope Budgeting is built around this belief and lets you assign money to different categories. Recurring bills, day-to-day living expenses and those things we’d like to do or have. And any money not spent in one category carries over into your savings. Banktivity automatically budgets scheduled transactions – bills and paychecks – categorized to your Envelope Budget. And you’ll always know well how you’re tracking with Banktivity’s visually-driven Budget vs. Actual reports. INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT MADE EASY Banktivity’s intuitive investment features helps you better manage stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRAs, 401(k)s, CDs and other assets. You can track buys, sells, splits, dividends, options and more. And Banktivity calculates IRR, ROI, and gains and losses. You can even choose which lots you sold from. Built-in report templates (Income & Expense, Net Worth, Payee Summary and more) dynamically analyze your finances. You can assign tax codes to generate Tax reports or export to TurboTax. Or view holdings in the Portfolio of Investment Summary reports – presented in comprehensive graphics that let you drill down for details, export or print. ON THE GO, IN THE KNOW No matter where you are, you can enter transactions with Banktivity for iPhone. And you can sync accounts, budgets and investments to all your macOS/iOS devices. Should you need help or have questions, we provide unlimited email support, U.S.-based Live Chat (Mon-Fri, 9AM- 4PM EST) for quick solutions. • Very good, except for one detail regarding the exchange rate.

I’ve been using Bankivity for over 10 years, and it has been an invaluable tool for managing my personal finances. However, I’ve encountered a couple of issues related to exchange rates that need improvement. First, the software does not automatically update exchange rates for the various currencies I use, which complicates tracking international accounts and funds. Second, when generating Worth Trend reports, Bankivity defaults to the most recent exchange rate, rather than the historical rate for the reporting period. This results in inaccuracies in the report, requiring me to manually download the values in their original currencies and adjust the data in Excel. These are the only areas where the tool falls short of an otherwise excellent experience.

Maybe it’s just me but I liked the older version that would populate the category depending on the person paid. If I pay my gardener every month, it should just populate Garden as a category as it used to remember. Now after typing the company, i have to type the category. Also, the instructions are not that great for changing payments to red and stuff like that. I’m=very been using it for over 15 years anyway.

This application was highly recommended by a financial professional friend of mine so I thought I’d try it. Web site lists monthly pricing. Actual monthly pricing, not annual divided by 12. Install the application and, at least in the Apple App Store, only annual pricing is available.

I have discarded Quicken because it trashed my data base just at tax time when I went to the latest version. I remembered iBank, knew it‘s name was changed to Banktivity. So I looked for reviews of finance apps, and Banktivity compared very well with the others. I have been using it for a month. It‘s not easy to find some of the features, and I have not found any useful documentation. However, by carefully exploring every option and icon, I have found all the functionality I had with Quicken. I have subscribed to the silver level, but am only using the Bronze features. And I love that it is part of the Apple App Store ecosystem. I‘m very happy to have found it.

I’ve used Banktivity on my MAC for years now. It’s great and saves me so much time around tax time. For me, it’s been much better than Quicken. Customer service is great too.
  • What a Horrible App

I have been forced into using Banktivity since I entered the Mac world after retirement. The Mac version of the program is bad enough; nothing near as good as PC Quicken. Things only got worse and more expensive after the subscription format came in. But now I’m trying the iOS version (for traveling) and it’s just ridiculous. And there is no support for any of this. And absolutely NOTHING in the way of help, tutorials, etc. for the iOS. I am so willing to try anything else by this time. Any suggestions from other users?? Seriously. I’m going to keep checking back so if you have any ideas, please post here.

    Useless on IOS until fixed.
  • Unintuitive

This app is so cumbersome and unintuitive. I open a budget, and there’s seemingly no way to edit it. Can’t rename, can’t change the dollar amount in it. I’m guessing there’s documentation somewhere, but this should be intuitive without having to read a manual. I accidentally tally forgot to make a new category a child, and now I’m entirely out of luck because it can’t be edited later.
