I am not a person who is confident in the kitchen. I was someone who was using DoorDash every day to avoid being in my kitchen. My husband and I work a lot and this app is so handy with awesome quick recipes that it makes getting a delicious home cooked dinner on the table fast. Being in the states I now more uses for my kitchen scale too!
  • Helps keep me from going over budget

We’ve been on an intense debt repayment journey and I’ve utilized any tools that would help us stick to our budget. I’ve been a fan of sorted food since they’ve started and now as an adult with financial burdens and responsibilities their tips and tricks have been helpful. So naturally I wanted to see how this app would help us out on our financial journey. Tried the thirty day free trial and I noticed how it made budgeting our weekly groceries much easier. Again, I try to use any tools to make this rather tedious debt repayment journey bearable. So I had absolutely no issue making room for my budget for the roughly $60 annual fee. Overall I’d say that it has helped our family save hundreds in groceries since I’ve started using it four months ago. However, like many apps out there; there are some improvements that can be made in the tech side. Once in a while the shopping list would sort of freeze and refuse to generate our new meals for the next week. But it typically would fix itself some time after closing the app. I’m not techy so I don’t get bothered with any of the glitches but I know for some this might be a big deal. I do love that the menus are very simple, quick, cheap yet adventurous. But if you’re not into trying new foods this may not be the app for you. Additionally, for those who doesn’t have the luxury of having international shops nearby it also may not be for you. Overall, I’m so happy with this app and it’s been a vital part of our debt repayment journey!
  • Fine but not a great fit for me

Downloaded this because I wanted to cook one of the recipes from a video but I think maybe I am not the target audience. I am a fairly seasoned cook and this app felt like it was made for people who are trying to learn the flow of cooking and prepping a meal. I just wanted a basic recipe and didn’t need the Instagram post style recipe or the in-recipe timers. Additionally, it didn’t seem like it was made to switch between recipes - every time I tried to exit the recipe, it would ask me if I had completed it, and other little quirks like that made it harder to work with. Maybe the idea is that all you’ll need is this one recipe for dinner, but that just doesn’t vibe with my cooking style. I think there are things that could work, but I really just had the sense that I am not the ideal user here. Maybe I should have downloaded the cookbook app instead??
  • Pretty good, worth a try

I do enjoy this app, I use it off and on (not just because of its functionality, but because of the recipes themselves). I only have a few gripes: 1. I wish I could disable the automatic timer when going through a recipe step-by-step. I have my own timer I prefer. 2. The text when viewing a recipe in the step-by-step format is small and often requires scrolling. I assume they intend for you to listen to the audio prompts, but I like to listen to other things while I cook. 3. It’s reasonable to be logged in to more than one device at a time, and it’s pretty inconvenient to get logged out of one when I use the other.
  • My go-to

This app takes a lot of stress out of planning a weekly grocery shop and cook. Having a grocery list to hand is so convenient, as well as having the flexibility to decide which dishes to cook throughout the week. As someone who lives alone, I appreciate that there is usually enough for leftovers as well. It’s also nice to challenge myself - such as when my local shop doesn’t have all the ingredients, to figure out what to substitute in but still keep to the spirit of the recipe. Thanks for such a wonderful app.

Love the app, but after I got a new phone the UI doesn’t fit the screen.

Love the show, thought I would check out the app. It gets stuck with a flipping frying pan waiting for the site to recommend menus. I can’t even get to the sign up page. Boo!

I have been binge watching their videos, decided to check out this app sounds like a great idea. I go through the questions and it just sits and thinks and I get nothing.

I am a long time fan of the sorted food youtube channel and have known about this app for quite a while. I never chose to try it because I had always felt confident in my own abilities to cook tasty recipes on my own without having to pay a monthly subscription for an extra service. However, a couple of weeks ago I decided to give the app a try as I saw that there was a 30 day free trial and I must say that it has been an impeccable experience! Even as an experienced home cook who is confident cooking any recipe or maybe even coming up with my own recipes from time to time, this app has been super helpful planning my weekly dinners. Instead of going to various blog websites for recipes every week I am able to find all of my recipes in one app! On top of that the app automatically creates a shopping list based on the recipes or recipe pack that you've chosen (with the nice feature of being able to check off ingredients as you buy them). I have found that since using the app I am less stressed thinking about what to cook every week, I have been saving money at the grocery store due to the genius behind the recipe packs, and all of the recipes that I have cooked have been outstanding! I also lastly just wanted to mention how much I appreciate the twisits feature, which allows other users of the app to upload notes about the recipe, including ways to potentially improve it or ingredient substitutions in case you don't have one of the ingredients or you just want to change up the recipe a little. This app is easily a 10/10 and I will definitely be continuing with a subscription once my free trial expires!
