Description

Holy (formerly United Young) is an app to meet people who love Jesus, made by married couple Kathleen & Jonathan. The app lets you connect with an inspiring selection of Christians near you every day. See someone you’re interested in? Wave at them. If they wave back, we will connect you both, and you can chat! • Find a friend within the Christian community. • Read why people say Jesus matters. • Share your testimony and Bible inspiration. • Find inspiration in the faith journey of people near you. • Discover people in similar seasons of life. Note: Christ-honoring dating is only available to those who are single and of age 18 and upward. We welcome everyone who confesses Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and considers themselves a Christian (confessing the Nicene Creed) to join! We seek to connect the greater Christian community, and are united in our love for Jesus. Whether you are Catholic, Nondenominational, Evangelical, Anglican, Baptist, Reformed, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Methodist, or are just at the beginning of your journey with Jesus, you are welcome to join our diverse community of believers! This app was inspired by the call to unity (in Ephesians 4 & John 17) and the call to love and encourage one another (in Hebrews 10 & 1 Thessalonians 4). In addition, we were greatly inspired by Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s book “Life Together”. Bonhoeffer beautifully describes how we can see Jesus more clearly in the lives and testimonies of our brothers and sisters. ** Winner of both Jury and People’s Choice Awards at NYC Redeemer Presbyterian’s Center for Faith & Work’s Startup Pitch Night. ** Holy is free to download and use. This is made possible by members who generously subscribe to our Supporter plan. Supporting Holy lets us further the app and its mission, and gives access to extra features. Supporter benefits include: • See all received waves in one place. • Go back with 48 hour history. • Send priority messages. • See when chats are read. The price and duration of our Supporter subscriptions are clearly displayed in the app. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store after purchase. • Just like all the others

Fake profiles you’ll see after you subscribe… sigh. Just go to church and say hi to someone want to be friends. That will work much better then this waste of space. Why it’s called Holy. There’s a hole that’s clearly there. A scam.

It seems like a good app overall, but it’s like any other dating app. People will scam you and completely end the conversations for no reason. Try it for free but don’t buy anything. Didn’t seem to find anyone realistic.
  • A real Christian dating app!

This is so refreshing. I’m coming from “another” “Christian” dating app that is just a cheap clone of a secular app that is known for enabling lustful behaviors. Whereas this app, you can tell is made by Christ followers because “you will know them by their fruits”. The whole app and the team behind it really make it clear of that. I also like how there is no main focus and goal on money like other apps do to squeeze every little bit out of you to do basic things like talk to someone else! The team has found ways to let you find locals without paying but can support this for some decent additions that will improve the experience without hindering your ability to use the app. I am honestly going to subscribe just to support this app because I like the project and what I’ve seen so far. There is a manual process to get approved, but that seems fair to ensure they root out bots for spam or people who may have malicious motives. I have just begun and hope to not need this app for long but grateful this is here. God bless you team and thank you for this app!

Thanks, lends itself to a more conscience friendly experience for Christians than others.

I haven’t meet any friends yet but I’m loving the app so far. So much positive energy and so many people following in God’s footsteps. I love it so much

  • PayWalls

The concept is amazing and it allows for lots of really helpful information about church attendance, denomination, etc being displayed in profiles. However, there are paywalls EVERYWHERE, meaning these filters are impossible to actually utilize. You can only mess with minor filters such as age and distance away, but when it comes to trying to filter out people who attend church regularly, you have to pay. You also have a limit of how many people you can see at a time. TLDR Really good app if you’re desperate.

The app isn’t bad in concept, but after 4 months and one match who never said anything, I had to give up
  • Safer than most

If you want to honor the Lord in your relationships and your personal life, this app is more of a safe place than many other ones I have tried.
  • Pay to use? Really?

The apps okay, low user rate probably because you have to pay to even see who matched with you. That’s honestly so backhanded when this is supposed to be a Christian dating site when other feral apps are free to use out there (Facebook Dating, Hinge). Use ads instead of subscriptions and you might reach a larger user base. I’d give this more stars for the principle of it being a Christian dating app but you’re exploiting user experience for personal gain when there’s other means of obtaining money via a dating app. Allow immediate match capabilities and allow users to see who likes them in real time, because you’re not going to be able to compete with similar apps unless you add better matching options. I’d even allow for the paying to remove the cool down option to stay if you allowed people to see their matches for free. WWJD… is literally your whole base for this app and y’all are taking advantage of that.
