I wasn’t aware a paid membership was part of this until after I had downloaded. Wish I would have known before.
  • Great App

The functionality of saving recipes in this app is fantastic. I’m hoping they are working to synch with more stores like Sprouts as that’s really the downside, as the receipt scanner can only work so well. So I can’t really use the pantry feature as it’s designed unless I fix all the errors from the scan.

  • Great app; AI could improve

I love using Cooklist. The filter functionality is the reason I use this app over the other apps that I researched. It uses AI to help with adding recipes and to put them in one format, so sometimes the AI gets it wrong and occasionally it can be hard to edit the recipe to correct AI’s assumptions. Also, I wish I could set a standard grocery list and just add to it for my weekly shopping (which Plan A Meal has). I find myself tediously adding things every week that I should be able to set. But other than those 2 issues, this is great and has improved my life so much!

This app can be a tad detailed and complex to use, but now that I have the hang of it, I’m in love! I use it everyday. I never have to guess what I have at home. We are an “ingredients household”, and we love to save $$ by eating leftovers, and this app lets me stay on top of our pantry and refrigerator contents, plan interesting and delicious meals, and save money.

I’m very bad at remembering what I’ve bought and using ingredients before they go bad. After just a couple weeks using this app I already feel like I’m eating better and saving money.
  • Deceptive

First sign up, then link some stores and then told the annual subscription fee ($50). Seemed a bit deceptive to me to be told this fee after my sign up but that’s not the reason by itself I’m unimpressed… It might be worth it but then it struck me that I’d be paying $50 a year only for them also to be harvesting a massive amount of data from me and about me by default to sell on to whoever and then use it also for advertising stuff back at me, so it’s not just $50 being made off of a user it’s a whole lot more. Be warned! Do I really want my eating & shopping habits disseminated to anyone where not only am I not in control but I don’t profit from it yet I’m paying for it? (As per the terms of service if you read it). It could be that I buy nothing but junk food and that info then gets sold to insurers who then put my premiums up, for a quick example of how this could work beyond just marketing stuff at me. You wouldn’t even know. I also didn’t trust an app where it asks me to log into other sites with my passwords, at face value it didn’t seem very compliant with data governance. There’s no reassurance on why to trust this app with your data. I also didn’t like that once an account is connected, it couldn’t be disconnected. So I changed passwords for what I’d connected and then deleted the account (I didn’t trust deleting the account would delete my info) It could be a beautiful app and really useful etc.. I’ll never know but the overall cost and what you give up is too high in my opinion.

I would love to scan a photo of my pantry to update items in my pantry/fridge. Ai processing is a little glitchy/slow but it works so I won’t complain Otherwise a perfect app

Charged me for yearly plan one day before trial ended, and charged me 65 instead of 49. Why is it such a scam?
