    Love the news aspect and the bias and blindspot features are very helpful. However I have noticed the way sources are sorted have been skewing towards low factuality & weird alt right sources. Sources should be sorted by highest to lowest factuality as the default. It is disconcerting to have to scroll for four or five sources past “the federalist” “american faith” and “the patriot light” who’s opening sentences are all “the evil woke mind control agenda”. Adding to this point, there should not be a limit on blocking sources, there is more and more fox news esque slop (which is to say misinformation) popping up everyday from the right. I want to be able to rule out the obviously false ones, and unfortunately there are a lot of them. I WANT TO FILTER OUT OUTRIGHT MISINFORMATION I AM NOT BLOCKING ACTUAL NEWS SOURCES IM BLOCKING “WOKE ALIENS MUTILATE KIDS TO COMMUNE WITH JESUS” THESE ARE ALL SOURCES WITH NO CREDIBILITY THESE ARE GARBAGE TABLOIDS

    I was really looking forward to using this app as a balanced news source, but much to my dismay, the app does not allow you to read news articles, but AI summaries of news articles. When I am looking for my news, i am not looking for auto-generated, potentially incorrect, environmentally crippling AI slop. very disappointing.

  • Factually ratings are biased

    It is a good news aggregate. However, it also provides a factuality rating on the article. Too many times I have seen where the factuality is “mixed” when it is almost the same article word for word from a “Very High” article but from a different news. The only difference between the 2news publishers is where they land politically. Don’t believe the hype. This app IS deceptively biased towards one political side. Update: In response to the developer’s comment. Of your 3 trusted sources, which one of them is weighted more? I have seen studies that show Media Biased/Fact Check (MBFC) leans slightly in a certain direction along with AD Fontes Media. I understand you don’t do the ratings but you can put your thumb on the scale. Provide some transparency and I will change my review and subscribe. I acknowledge that my review and subscription doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme. Just trying to show that I think the product and idea is great. In today’s news we are getting lied to by left and right. Many pretending to be centered.

    They claim to just be an aggregate site and claim impartiality but every synopsis is written in a far left tone and slant. The “ai synopsis” shows a strong left bent akin to Gemini. Ai is programmed and trained to be a particular way. In this case, left leaning. Further, the supplied articles that you can link out to are nearly always arranged so that you start farthest left and have to scroll through all the left publications and then the center publications before you see any right publications. They claim this list is sortable, as an explanation of their apolitical ideology but the default (where most people will leave it untouched) is that you have to wade through all of the hard articles starting with the most left leaning and then progressively getting more center then right as you proceed. It’s 100% designed to push you to the left over time while believing that they are impartial. About as impartial as MSNBC. I’m not saying they should be more right leaning by any means. I AM saying that if you want to claim to be apolitical, be apolitical. Being politically biased while pretending not to be is the primary problem with media outlets today. This, unfortunately, just becomes more of the same problem. “We are apolitical! Let us try to subtly manipulate how you think about politics!”

    I am an independent journalist and I love using ground news to stay updated on the current events and stories that I otherwise might have missed , it’s nice to have summaries and to see the messaging being used by each political party etc . I recommend ground news to stay updated on topics that matter

    I was using another very popular news app and it was just full of old articles and just not nearly as high quality as this app. You can follow whatever you want and I really like the analysis as to whether the article is more left, central, or right. Thank you, guys- this is a rare find.

    Every time when I want to go back to the previous page by swiping from left edge of the screen to right, the menu bar pops up. Hope this can be fixed.
