Description

Moodscaper SE is a "Special Edition" of the moodscaper app that comes loaded with three alternative mood sample sets comprising ambient electric guitar, massive mellow modular sounds and an extraordinary orchestra! Moodscaper SE is also an easy to use instrument for creating epic-sounding pads and effects as part of a larger iPad-based music-making setup. Main features: · Unique generative atmospheric sample-based instrument · Simple user interface · Sleep timer · Three scale-based moods - light, sad and dark · Variable dynamics - from mellow and sparse to full-on drama! · Three loopers with optional sync · Provides tasteful auto-accompaniment to your playing in realtime or in loops · Hints displayed on keys that should sound good with root notes or chords · Samples are randomly stacked for a bigger sound with more variation · Effects section with filter, dual-delay and reverb · Effects tweaks can be recorded in loopers · Additional 20 key instrument for each mood · IAA support (as a generator) with no special setup required For more information, a downloadable manual, demos and support, please visit website via the support URL. Thanks and happy moodscaping! *** Please note that this app is now in maintenance / bug fixes only mode as it relies on "deprecated" (by Apple) technology such as IAA. ***

  • It's like a mood ring, but it's an app!

Did I date myself with the mood ring comment? Whatever! I love this app! I already have moodscaper and I already downloaded the extra sounds for it but I like Robs apps so much that I bought this one just to support the developer. I don't know Rob and I've never met Rob. I just love his apps. The sounds in this thing are incredible and it inspires me to do other things. What I mean by that is I record a few bars from moodscaper se and then improvise new things over it. Usually using guitar but sometimes other synthesizers. Look for videos on YouTube to get an idea. This isn't like buying a MiniMoog soft synth. These are specific sounds designed with ambience in mind for max moodiness.

and could only take one app with me, this would be it! (If I could take two more, they would be Moodscaper and Pianoscaper 😀) This app has three sound sets - SE-01, 02, and 03 - and each produces a different listening/performing experience. They're not obviously different because they all produce beautiful ambient, warm, lush sounds. My impression is that SE-01 is more harmonically rich and more slowly melodically (?) evolving. SE-03 is more orchestral sounding often with low and high tones at the same time. SE-02 (my favorite) is more lively, both rhythmically and tonally. It has beautiful phasing and pulsing accents almost like an arpeggiator. It is easy to toggle between these three sound sets in performance. My thanks to Rob for creating this app so I don't have to go iTunes to load these sounds into Moodscaper! Even though that option is free. For me, a few bucks to avoid this hassle is well worth it! Moodscaper SE is gorgeous!
