    I loveee love this podcast app. It’s such a beautiful interface and everything works seamlessly! I love that it’s open source and the developers really seem to care about making it better. That’s rare to find these days My only notes for improvement are - 1) Would be so nice to have a “Play next” option, that’s one of the main features I’ve been missing from my old podcast apps. It would make editing the playlist so much less of a hassle. I didn’t realize how often I used that, but it turns out it’s constantly lol. Also on that note, making it easier to edit the playlist in general would be nice, maybe with a long press being able to edit the queue and drag things where you want them instead of having to scroll to the top and hit the edit button! 2) Would love if the widget was more responsive, I find that it’s usually referencing a podcast I was listening to earlier but not the one I’m currently on, also it would be awesome to have a widget with a pause button/skip ahead/go back 30 seconds button 3) More customization for the interface - There is a little room for customization but it would be nice if on the premium tier you could take it even farther, like customizing what swiping gestures do, or customizing the Home Screen icon colors, making the podcast icons smaller or larger in the library, customizing the colors of the Home Screen and accents other than dark mode, even just more color options would be so nice, things of that nature 4) More premium features, I feel like for what it costs there could be a little more bang for your buck. Like maybe adding some AI features you could activate in settings like smart speed (speeding up slightly when the pacing of the podcast slows down) or the AI ad skip where it gets familiar with where the ads are and skips them for you, I loved these features on Podcast Addict but unfortunately iOS doesn’t support that app anymore Those are my only notes so far, truly this is by far a superior podcast player to 90% of the ones I’ve tried on iOS and I’m definitely sticking with it for the long haul! These improvements would just make it a 10/10

  • The ads finally broke it for me

    I've been using Castbox since forever. But at this point, the ads are just too intrusive and pervasive. I know that you need to maximize revenue, but you can only push a person but so far. I've switched to a different podcast app. Thanks for all the good years, but I'm out.
