The content is interesting and relevant and the reporting is superlative. Equally impressive is the drive to stay relevant by presenting media in multiple formats, from print to podcasts and short videos.” “Impeccable journalism with an app to match. The Economist doesn’t need my endorsement of the quality of their journalism. It speaks for itself. Rather, I’ll comment that their app is well-designed and refreshing to use…I love being able to easily download entire editions, listen to articles with real narrators and search for past articles.” Full terms of use: https://www.economist.com/legal/terms-of-use Our privacy policy: https://www.economist.com/privacy Download The Economist app now for trusted reporting on the news and global issues.

I am experiencing technical problems with the audio feed of the weekly issue. It cuts regularly and each time I have to go back and restart it. Can’t understand why. Could you help ? The Economist is the world’s finest magazine, but sometimes I have the impression you stray from your historical classical liberal thinking and centrist position in politics. Please always keep in mind there is a huge difference between progress as expressed in your motto and progressivism, which denotes a partisan left wing mindset and unhelpful but more stance on a range of consequential issues, from identity politics to climate change to economic and social policy.

Have been reading The Economist for about 40 years. While I miss some of the wit of the previous decades, the unwavering support of liberal (small “l”) politics and economic policies is needed more now than at any time since perhaps WWII. Fascinating obituaries and a great source of books to read, too. While I am a fan of print media, the app gives me access to all the great content and daily briefings wherever I happen to have some free time to enrich my day. Please keep up the good fight!

The Economist provides at your fingertips real news. Instead of free clickbait, a jingoistic echo chamber, or Neo-Marxist philosophy you get material that will inform you, surprise you, inspire you, make you laugh, and sometimes even bring a tear to your eye. The Economist isn’t the news you want to hear, it’s the news you need. It has transformed the way in which I see the world, made me a better worker, manager, citizen, husband, and father. The world would be better off if everyone read it, and for this reason, I recommend you read it too.

  • Good content, bad app performance

Major memory hog! Seems to have some underlying processes that are very inefficient in terms of storing offline stories, and from time to time it completely chews up my battery and degrades my phone’s performance.
  • Great content, occasionally buggy

Previous versions (maybe this version too, tbd!) would occasionally lag or go blank on the main article feed. Still my favorite news app :)
  • Good but Need Better Video

The written articles and podcasts are fantastic, but the video content doesn’t meet the same standard or thoughtful and thorough tone.

I’ve been a subscriber for several years. I enjoy using the app, but I’m not a fan of the ads. Is there a way to exclude the ads, or only have one ad when I open the app?
