The app updated and has now locked me out of my account 2 days after they took payment for my subscription. Cant get any help from customer service at all. Don’t spend the money unless you’re cool potentially not getting it back.

I can’t for the life of me understand why on EARTH a fairly reputable service like this would not make changes whatsoever to their user interface. Just take a look at all the reviews from thousands of people that all say THE SAME THING. Fix the interface, and make the quality of life updates your service so desperately needs! If you have enough money to have anime exclusives along with contracts on other shows, then you most certainly have enough money to hire a comprehensive coder or tech to your dev team that can fix your applications. I have had hidive on three platforms: ps5, Roku, and my phone. ALL of which have had a multitude of issues that, at times, make it unbearable to use. I’ve since deleted it off of ps5 since it was so awful. An average of less than 2 stars with over 4k reviews is abysmal. Figure it out.

For as long as HIDIVE has been around they still continue to fail at listening to their viewers. While they have some good anime they definitely make it extremely hard to enjoy them. Their user interface is absolutely horrible, not being able to continue to the next episode from the a continued show, not displaying the anime name from the continue section, not remembering where you left off unless you use the continue section. Whoever runs HIDIVE needs to actually reed through the reviews and revamp the entire app instead of chugging forward with a horrible one. Every season I want to use this app less and less just because it’s such a hassle and right now I am wondering why I still pay for it.

Its simple, make everything more like crunchyroll.

I would love to give this app a higher rating but since ice had this app for over a year i can or make wishlists and it NEVER remembers what episode I’m on or alot of times just straight up forgets series im watching and no longer show up on continue watching . FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST FIX YOUR APP IT CANT BE THAT HARD!

I think the only positive thing to write is that HiDive has content that you can’t (necessarily) get elsewhere. 1. “Continue watching” doesn’t update regularly. 2. AppleTV app doesn’t have the ability to bring up Watchlists. 3. There is no “watched” indication for episodes, so once you find the series you had been watching, you have to remember where you left off. This is particularly annoying with point 1. From a UX perspective, this App falls short, especially in 2025.

Who in their right mind would decide to put a gray box that cannot be closed at the bottom of streaming content on their app? Literally so annoying, will never purchase such a trash service. It says “Chromecast” and there is no way to get rid of it, just taking up screen space and being distracting and annoying. Also does not fade away the top bar on your device, this is definitely the worst streaming app I have ever seen.

Not worth it

The Apple TV app is impossibly bad. Saved watch lists are buried in the settings menu, no way to tell if you’ve already watched an episode in a series, incorrect or missing content labels, and search is useless. Lack of show titles means you have to try and read a title in the cover art. Also often can’t scroll down far enough to see episode titles. If HIDIVE fixed their app they could actually be competitive in the space. As for now it is a wasted subscription
