  • App never works when trying to submit to a role

    I’ve been a Backstage member for nearly one year, got zero jobs and the app is trash. I’ve contacted customer service about this issue before with no resolution; I can NEVER submit to a role on my mobile. It never works!

  • WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & FAULTY app!

    I recently was offered to resubscribe on the App and I chose the $99 deal and paid with my Apple Pay. It did not recognize my payment and still continued to ask me to renew my subscription! I’ve been reaching out to customer service about this issue for the past week with no resolution. That means I am Missing out on applying for work because of them. And their phone number doesn’t have live customer service either so you’re subjected to emailing back and forth with a callous agent who couldn’t care less about your issues. They have neither refunded me nor activated my subscription on their end that I paid them for! Nor are they attempting to fix their app and site to avoid this sort of thing. Aside from this, most of the roles are for new directors. I would choose Actor’s Access. I’m switching over as we speak. It’s been over a week now that they have not refunded me my money, which means they stole it essentially, without activating my service!

    My biggest issue with the app is that I can’t save jobs? I can save searches but not specific jobs. Some times I’m just browsing and seeing what’s out there but I’m not ready to apply immediately. Seems like a huge miss from design standpoint? Another issue is the app crashing whenever trying to open attachments/job links etc. Other than these issues, there are ton of job postings for UGC/acting which is great. I did sign up for full 12 months and would like to see some of these items be ironed out.

  • Don’t get this app if acting is a hobby

    So I’m 11 and have been in 4 plays for a local acting company. It doesn’t pay or anything, it’s just for fun. But that’s how I discovered I love acting. I was playing my game and saw an ad for backstage and thought it would be perfect for a starting child actor. There are a lot of opportunities near me which is great (do note I live near LA, Hollywood, Santa Barbara). There aren’t a lot of opportunities for a girl my age but there are some, and I could definitely pass as 13-15. I’ve found two jobs so far, one is an extra with a few lines and another is a lead for a movie (I probably won’t get it but it can’t hurt to try). I haven’t applied to anything yet because I wanna ask my parents first. I don’t think it is a great app for someone unemployed or under 18 because based on the comments it is a very expensive app. But I do like just looking at what’s open and having experience looking for an acting job. The app seems very professional, organized, and neat. If it wasn’t so expensive I think a lot of talented actors of all ages could find jobs and make a living off of it. If you really think “I’m going to be a famous actor/actress” then go for it! But if you’re more like “acting is a fun hobby of mine” don’t bother getting the app, the sign up is way to complicated, and all the jobs ( even the ones you don’t get paid for) are way to expensive to apply to. On the bright side, if you’re a model or backstage crew member this app also helps you find jobs for that too! Hope this helps!
