  • Used to work well

Got out for the first real hike in awhile. Wanted to find some waypoints I saved years ago. My position on the map floats all over the place and is very inaccurate. I can stand still and the cursor floats all over the map. Running up to date software in an iPhone 14 Pro Max. **UPDATE** still useless to navigate to waypoints. 3rd hike now trying to find a rest spot to no avail. Brand new iPhone 15. Waypoint keeps moving and has me going in circles. Time for a new app.
  • lowest quality maps in the industry

gaia is useless. loses and inaccurately saves waypoints, useless offline detail, struggles to render rivers and lakes while zoomed out, no details on landmarks... monthly subscription is another cash grab because the app doesnt magically get less buggy when you pay for it.
  • Outside wrecked a totally useful app

Used to be an easy to use straight forward app when it was owned by Gaia GPS. Now, since outside got ahold of it, it costs way to much money to use it, Outside charges A LOT more money for the service then it originally cost, and didn’t add and significant improvements, and to boot it doesn’t load when you open it. It’s still a useful service, but the company now charges way to much for it compared to what it used to be, and the app doesn’t function like it should.
  • Imagery will not load since the new update.

None of the overlays will load outside of the immediate area that is shown when the app is launched. Is it not a connectivity/internet speed issue. This is incredibly frustrating. I have to force quit the app over and over until Iget lucky enough for the overlays to randomly load. The app is currently unusable for me!
  • Maybe I am missing something

I signed up for free trial and could not figure out how to import trail maps (I was at a national park) nor could I figure out how to use it generally. I have a lot of experience with AllTrails which I had no issues figuring out how to use. When I tried to cancel I missed the 7 day window by a few hours and was charged for an app I can’t seem to use. I tried watching YouTube videos and still no luck Given that I spent $90 perhaps I will try again - not happy about spending this much when I find AllTrails to work and it’s half the price

I’ve been using Gaia for a couple of years now and slowly I’m getting better at using it. The little I have learned has helped me a lot already and looking forward to learning all the features.
  • New update won’t load

The latest update, 2024.12, won’t load. All I get is the spinning icon at the bottom. So much for fixing the issues. I give up. Thanks Outside for degrading a decent product.
  • None Better!

I’ve tried switching to other apps over the years, tempted by the latest features, but I always find myself coming back to Gaia. Its maps and data are always the most accurate and up-to-date. From Canada to North Carolina to Alaska, it’s been my go-to for hiking, mountain biking, and off-road adventures. Whether overlanding or exploring the backcountry, Gaia consistently outperforms the competition. I don’t think I’ll ever leave it again—it’s simply the best.
  • Very glitchy downloading offline maps

I have been trying to download a set of offline maps for a few hours and all the downloads stop at 11%. The “resume download” button does not work no matter how many times I press it. Based on how expensive this subscription is, you would think that the main feature of Gaia pro (downloading offline maps) would function better. I would definitely not purchase Gaia pro.
  • FIX THE LOGIN

After purchasing app, I am unable to login! Why am I being asked to login to Outside? What a waste of my time and money.
