I think the crosstown buses are the most incredible way to move east to west in New York City and it better than any city I’ve ever lived in. But the fact that people like myself with polio myelitis and difficulty with their legs, cannot always use the subway and central Park west the bus service is horrendous, it used to be much better and the fact that the bus now ends at 57th St. you no longer can move freely down to Penn Station and back. Madison Avenue has the greatest bus service second Ave. has an incredible service has 400 an incredible service the west side except for Broadway stinks. The subway is phenomenal, but there’s no elevator service to get those of us out that can’t use the stairs every day. I’ve worked with the Americans for disability in New York City disability office and I can’t believe it. We can’t do anything to improve that service Nelson Monteleone 91762 36400

I’ve used many transit apps and this one, by far, is the best! I highly recommend it for the accuracy and precision in getting me around NYC!

This app is usually pretty good but every time it upgrades it seems to get worse. It’s not showing the bus information like it used to because it wants me to pay for a subscription. So now it only shows me 3 buses that I am not looking for.
  • User Unfriendly Update

This used to be my go-to transit app and now it feels unusable! My home screen defaulted to showing buses, etc before trains at the station, and the app started to not be able to locate me more than half the time I was using it. They also took away the offline maps which I used all the time (or at least maps are not in an accessible place). It is no longer of any use so I’m sad to delete it but it feels very user unfriendly with the newest update. :(

EDIT: I have come to rely on this app more and more as time has gone by. I am a disabled woman in NYC and it is sometimes difficult to find the easiest & fastest route somewhere. I never have a problem with this app. I love the widget and the alarm options to keep me on track. It easy to set your destination and see your options. The app shows where there are issues (NYC MYA has many) and the suggests different options to avoid the problems. Another wonderful feature of this app is that they allow you to suggest new features for people to vote on. The developers then take it under consideration I suggested an option to slow down the walking time for people who are disabled or older and I suggested that the directions that include the NYC subway be marked as handicapped. I feel super excited to know that the developers will look at these suggestions and actually consider them. Most apps don’t even have a customer service department let alone one that listens! I recently downloaded this app to try to navigate through New York Citty easier. This app has been very helpful for me and I am happy I have it!!!

It is not reliable, it’s says the bus is 5 minutes away when in reality I’ve had to wait for it 20 + minutes I don’t mind but in winter it gets really cold there was a time where I had to wait 40 min in very cold weather because it kept saying it was 5 minutes away
