  • Excellent app for learning new words!

I’ve had a great time learning new words with this app and I like the organization of the words I like and the different words I can choose to learn. My only gripe, is the music in the app can’t be muted. When I need to hear the pronunciation of the word, it sometimes can be hard to hear over the music. I couldn’t find a way to mute it or adjust the volume in app. They should add this feature, or if it already exists, I could use some help, cause I love this app otherwise.
  • Decent vocab app

One of the better curated vocabulary apps. The only issue I have with it is that you see the same words constantly if you flip through.
  • Pronouncing words

This app is absolutely amazing and I really have no complaints! I think if you guys were to add anything, showing how to pronounce the words in the text below would be super beneficial!! I know there is a sound to click on that you can play to hear it, but sometimes I’m in a busy room or unable to play the sound:( Still a wonderful app regardless!

This app is very good and useful the only problem is that you have to pay for almost everything. I tried doing a quiz to challenge myself and I had to pay and honestly those were just straight up annoying so for the vocabulary an id give it a solid 3 just for a bunch of payments I have to do and I hope one of the moderators reply to this.

    Fantastic. The best so far
  • Absolutely Incorrect spelling, use of words, brevity, etc.

I’m gonna keep it short and sweet, because for some reason, my last review underwent a weird glitch and didn’t let me continue writing. Take this as an example: “manifest”: adj.- “His illness first manifested itself[…]” Like, if you I can’t use the word with the given P.O.S. in a sentence example, thus exemplifying that you are unfamiliar with it, then just don’t! This is really unprofessional and invalid. Please check over what you write—not only this app, but this going for everyone—ESPECIALLY considering this app is meant to TEACH VOCAB like a dictionary. We expect more.
  • Great Learning Aid, But…

I have learned many new words, as well as come across many words I already know, but seldom use. My only issue is with the man’s voice who is pronouncing the words. I certainly don’t agree with all the pronunciations I’m hearing. Just today, the word DOVECOTE popped up, and he pronounced it as 3 syllables, as if the final E has an accent mark over it. This is a 2-syllable word DOVE-COTE, so why is it being mispronounced? How do we let you know if we question any of the pronunciations? Also today, BOUTONNIÈRE was also strangely pronounced, as if the accent was on the TON, and then he couldn’t decide if he should pronounce it as it’s pronounced in America, versus France and Europe. How do we let you know if we question any pronounciation?
  • Fun, easy and great for long term memory

I love the streak approach and daily exposure + review. By having an app specifically for learning words (and giving reminders throughout the day), I’m so much more motivated to stick to it because now the words are sticking to me too! Plus the audio is crisp and clear and the custom backgrounds are pleasant.

I’ve had this app for a very long time, and I remember there used to be an unsettling AI voice that said the words, probably about a year or two ago. What was it? It was the only AI voice to truly give me chills, and I miss it so much. This probably seems irrelevant, but it would mean a lot if you could tell me how I could hear more of it.

When I chose the trial option, the app directed me back to start over. I canceled the $36.00 subscription and deleted the app. Waste of time.
