  • Excessive Premium Notifications

Your phone will alert often—not because anything important is happening in your area (the only reason you downloaded this godforsaken app), but because they want you to buy premium and abuse notification alerts to do so! There is no option to disable this. Useless and annoying.

This used to be a helpful app - now it’s useless unless you pay for plus.

I find it disgusting I now have to pay to have access to what’s going on in my neighborhood! Somebody please put the citizen app out of business.

Seriously, cool but I can only take for so much. It’s racking my nerves. Nice to know of danger within the area people are spazzing out. Oh Jesus, come.
  • Really bad recently

This app was good when I downloaded, but recently it’s stopped reporting lots of stuff around my area. I’ll see police activity, check the app, and see nothing. Just now there was a massive fire/explosion in my neighborhood that I saw with my own eyes. Police and fire trucks everywhere… no mention on the app. Deleting it since it’s pretty much useless.

Have to pay a significant amount to get it to barley do anything… doesn’t even push local alerts
  • Pay or get nothing

When i first downloaded citizen it was completely free now every single feature including seeing a sex offender near you is blocked behind a pay wall and you cant even see helicopters any more , the app has become completely useless due to this change and ive been hopelessly searching for an alternative that doesnt make people pay for safety especially sex offenders!
  • New design is garbage

The new design is awful. Why can’t I see a list of incidents in my area anymore? I have to swipe incidents by incident. It’s not user friendly. I hate that I’m asked to endanger myself if there is an incident nearby. I’d prefer to know if I should be sheltering because of a shooting, not being asked to go record. Speaking of recording videos, I think it’s very distasteful that users record people experiencing medical issues, being loaded into ambulances, having cpr performed on them, etc. without blurring faces of patients! Some of those patients are minor children! Very disappointed in the direction the app has taken. I’m close to deleting, and relying on alerts through my city/county. At least the gov alerts tell me if I need to take cover.
