  • The new app and the new cameras have great features

I’ve always liked these blink cameras, and the app and now it’s added so many great new features. There are so many more options to control your cameras and alerts in the app now to view it on your phone and Amazon and other devices. The new cameras that I got on sale on an Amazon deal are a nice upgrade. It’s amazing the people recognition and how it tells you whether it’s a person that the camera sees on the alerts. Along with the affordability, these are really easy to set up and the app is easy to use. I do recommend these. I also recommend the premium plan with 24 hours Support they are very good and truly helpful. As well as knowing that, all of your clips are secure in the cloud. However, if cost is an issue, you could use a USB storage device economically to store your own clips right on the sync module that is included with the cameras.

After speaking with customer service, I realize that I have to pay a monthly fee or some companies do not charge a monthly fee after you buy their cameras. I was very disappointed.

I really liked the camera and app at first, but with time it stopped working. When I try live view it never works and It also doesn’t capture all motion. So when I need it most it doesn’t record anything. It picks up random things like trees blowing in the wind, but not people walking past my apartment or in my area. The camera is good and clear and you can zoom in far. The sound recording is also good and clear.

There needs to be an auto refresh all thumbnails or selectable intervals, also needs to be an all lights on/off feature. Include a grid view of all the cameras, also need to be an option to have the camera armed but also to be able to turn off notifications for the specific camera and not all cameras, every time you open the app the camera thumbnails should refresh upon each app reopening

I replaced my Ring doorbell with Blink only because I wanted to add cameras around the house and Blink was cheaper. It has been about two years and I continuously have problems. There are connectivity issues all the time. I get notices of motion at the front door, but get no video and cannot connect to live view. I was getting too many notifications of my cat walking around my back yard so I adjusted the sensitivity of the motion sensor. Someone got in my backyard and broke into my shed and stole a bunch of stuff. No video, not one second. These cameras are ridiculous.
  • Wifi

Honestly, the doorbell blink camera is nice and captures well. But the wifi is a HUGE PROBLEM. I had to call blink support 15 times this year to help connect/reset my blink. I did know how to reset it and change the battery but after 4 days it reverts back to not working. I hate how this keeps happening and I need blink to figure it out for me. They need a better module to send the wifi better. My router was literally 5 feet from the module then I moved it next to my monitor and got nothing.

  • Live View Issues

Until the last update there were no issues performing a live view. Now, I can do a live view on all my XT cameras but, on the newer Camera 4 the only way I can perform a live view is to either 1. Live view one of the XT cameras then immediately live view the camera 4 or, connect my iPhone or iPad to my home 2.4Ghz network. Cellular, 5Ghz, 6EGhz or a Hotspot will not connect, unless I do a live view on my XT camera first. The Wifi signal to both the camera and hub is 100% so signal strength is bot the issue. I have deleted the camera, hub and reset them and re-added them but problem still exists. Amazon sent a replacement camera 4 but still a no-go. The Camera 4 will detect motion and perform an hourly photo take but unless I am connected to my home 2.4Ghz they don't show up under clips. IMO the issue is the app since prior I had no problem accessing live view on 5Ghz, 6EHhz or cellular.
