This app is absurd, it sends me a bunch of notifications but when I open the app, there’s nothing to see, the device is connected. Everything works, but the app is useless if it’s nothing but notifications

Absolutely horrible experience! I’ve had the cameras for about 7 months and recordings rarely save or they get cut short. I’ve adjusted the settings as much as I could, watched videos on setting recommendations and the system still rarely works as it should. Selling these and never going back to Blink.

I am really not happy that you can’t do a live view. Also it never works on Alexa. When my door rings it does not show the camera.

I love the camera I been using them for over 5 years now. But I been having problems lately with the live camera. I replaced the battery redownload the app. And nothing is working. Never had a problem before.

The app works when it wants to. I’ve been having an issue with the live feed for a few months now. Definitely switching to a better company because customer support is horrible

The app works on my iPad but not on my iPhone and I cannot figure out why. I’ve done what was suggested several times and it still doesn’t work.

  • Below Average App

The app is finicky, sometimes it responds quickly, other times the spinning wheel goes on and on. Can’t rely on what’ll happen when opening the app. Considering another home security system with local storage. 3/30/25: request enhancement to delete by each day for videos stored locally.
  • Falls way short of what it should do

This app seems to have been thrown together just to obtain a working product, and while it does work it’s well in need of further refining to make it more functional. So far the only real improvements they’ve added was Blink advertising in the app. I’ll list what it easily could do but lacks… 1) Two buttons on home screen that allow you to turn on/off all lights (or the alarm sirens) at the same time, one for just lights in a specific sync module group and one for every single light in all groups. It blows my mind they over looked being able to do this. Absolutely needed! 2) The ability to have one motion sensor trigger on other lights or cameras within the system. This ability would almost make the Blink system actually functional. As it is now the motion sense is mostly worthless, by the time it senses motion and starts recording what ever triggered it on has already well passed out of view of the camera. For example: If camera 1 at the start of my driveway would also trigger on camera 2 further down my drive it would actually come on and be recording when the car or person was coming to it, as it is now none of the cameras turn on and start recording till what ever triggered it has already passed, extremely annoying and worthless. Absolutely needed! 3) The ability to differentiate the alert and sound notifications. Set, if wanted, so sync module 1 cameras alert a different sound than sync module 2 cameras, or most importantly the door bell. We get a lot of false alerts for various reasons so notifications, add to that problem 2 mentioned above and they tend to get ignored. If someone presses the doorbell button it’ll likely get ignored. Give us the ability to set the sound from the doorbell being pressed to the same sound I use for an incoming phone call, a different distinctly different sound than a leaf blowing past triggering the camera out back. Absolutely needed! 4) The ability to turn flood lights off so they do not turn on when I don’t want them to. Seriously, how was this even over looked? I hit the disable motion sense button and it stops turning the camera and notifications on, but it doesn’t actually disable the motion sense, it still turns the flood lights on. Sometimes that’s nice or acceptable, but if I don’t want a light coming on at all there’s no way to do this. A perfect example, we have a floodlight camera on our rear deck, if I’m back there I turn motion sense off to stop my phone from blowing up with alerts, having the light come on is fine, however, when we’re in the hot tub we don’t want the light coming on at all, there’s no way to disable the motion sense from not turning the lights on. Absolutely needed! 5) May or may not be possible, but fix the lag time. I hear a sound by camera 1 so I open the app and live view camera 1, the lag time from when I hit the button till when it starts showing me video is ridiculous. It may only be 1-2 seconds, but its a long enough delay that what ever was there is now gone, so I want to switch to a different camera, here’s where it gets really annoying and needs improved, I have to then wait for the camera I just turned off to shut down, another 1-2 seconds, before I can live view a different camera, which then takes an additional 1-2 seconds before I’m seeing it. At least shorten this time by going instant off on the camera when I close that live view, the shut down delay before you can open a different camera is annoying, and if you try to do it too fast the entire app hangs and errors, and yes I have high speed fiber optic internet service, it’s the app that’s slow, not my iPhone, wifi or internet. 6) Wish list item, let me view all my cameras (at least the wired power ones for sure) in separate boxes at the same time on my TV or computer screen from within the Prime Video app. No need to record, just view like a true security system monitor.
