  • Great App, Recent Updates Made It Slow - FIXED!

I’ve been using the app for a decade and loved YNAB. However with the recent updates the app is so slow to load. It’s nearly impossible to use. Very disappointing to see the decline in quality. Please undo the unnecessary add-ons. Follow the K.I.S.S. principle. Edit: thank you, it’s now working again!

I have been using YNAB for 7 years and can say it’s changed my life in the way of truly understanding how to manage money. Taking the zero-sum method and applying it with a quality system like YNAB IS A GAME CHANGER! Recently this last year I’ve been teaching others at my church how to use it and it’s blown their minds as well.

New update to say the least is horrible after years of using YNAB I will have to find a new budget. I loved the original plan and with every update it got worse. I have been using it less and less. I have no transactions, nothing works. It is no longer user friendly or useful to me. I recommended it to all of my friends now I am sorry I did
  • Generally a great budgeting app

Well made and with a few minor quirks, this app and its encoded budgeting approach helps me manage money across multiple accounts and never allows me to spend money I don’t have. I’ve been continually surprised about how effective it is at money management and how quickly I can update my budget each day. Highly recommended!

The cleared uncleared is a mess. Roll back your changes or else I’m going to cancel my subscription
  • Too many changes

Don’t use this app if you want to have consistency with your money. You know how we all hate when a new version comes out and they make lots of useless changes to the format? YNAB does that A LOT. They are slow to address, substantive issues and limitations of their program, but quick to add a gimmick or useless feature. It is already very confusing app and the UI changes are driving me away. No longer recommended.
  • Going the wrong way

There have been a lot of updates to the user interface lately, and each one seems to make the app a little more difficult to use. Many processes have become confusing and cumbersome (working with split transactions, moving money between categories, and assigning imported transactions, to name a few) I’ve been using YNAB for more than ten years. It use to be so simple, but it increasingly feels bloated and uninviting. With each passing year the price goes up, and my satisfaction level goes down.
  • Update is pretty but not as intuitive as original.

YNAB is the gold standard for budget software. Unfortunately, the latest update sacrificed usability for improvements in appearance. Before, you could tell if a transaction downloaded from the bank but was not logged. Now you have to open each transaction to see whether it has cleared the bank in situations where user did not log the transaction before it was downloaded from the bank. Only those previously entered show the link that happens with a match. The new interface will take some getting used to. Rather than a gradual change, YNAB opted for a major overhaul and the learning curve that goes with it. Bad news: you can’t NOT upgrade. It’s automatic.
  • Why make unnecessary changes?

I don’t like many of the changes they are making on the web page version of ynab. Why change “budget” to plan? It’s a pointless change and makes it more confusing
